Bottle with the original pyramid label, pours deep black-brown with a lasting fine crema and aromas of resin, black treacle and very faintly of smelling salts - itís a waker-upper, for sure. Wonderful rich, roasty and aromatic body, Light, and bright, yet burnt and warming.

Can. One of nicest pouring beers Iíve had for a while, great colour, great head, nice lacing as I drink it. Itís all of itís bitterness, but I found that itís just to sour at the top and in the finish. Iíd have liked more warmth from malts to even that out a bit, which is the worst thing I can think of to say. I can see why it has many fans.

John, thank you for bringing this to me and keeping me lazy from not crossing the pond (wink, haha, love you bro). This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a black color with a moderately half fingered white to off white foamy head that once it dissipated, there was barely any lacing. The smell was somewhat oily citrusy/bitter grapefruit with a decent roastiness about it. The taste followed the previously mentioned flavors. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a sessionability that wanted to show its face but honestly I was sipping this for the most part. The carbonation was there but wasnít overbearing. Overall, for the most part, this was a good Black IPA that I would have again.

Bottle. Bought from Selfridges in Birmingham ( expensive ). Black with a small head. Hoppy with some maltiness. A dangerous beer.

Draft - Medium dark roast and piny hops. Cloudy dark brown with a rich brown head. Roast and grapefruit with a bit of bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

330ml bottle from Drinkstore. Tis black/brown, huge foamy lasting tan creamy head. Pine resin hops, backed by chocolatey, coffee notes, subtle enough behind those big hops, but definitely there. Lovely flavour, sweet light chocolate up front, followed by bittersweet coffee in the finish. Light in the mouth, strangely so a really unique mouthfeel. Tight, fizzy carbonation, long bitter cacao finish. Noice.

Heavy chocolatey flavours dominate this beer. Murky as the devils armpit. A decent crash course on black IPAs

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet served in an IPA glass. Two finger light brown head. Foamy, altmost creamy. Body is almost opaque. Dark reddish brown/black body. Aroma is mostly hops, a little sour. Fruity, but with some soy sauce, smoke and basement aromas. More like a stout on the tongue. Salty, deep bitter aftertaste. Pretty good, but I feel like this one falls between two stools. Itís the wrong kind of bitterness for a stout, and a little to dark for an IPA.

Huge beige head. Opaque black body goes hazy dark brown at the edges. Fruity earthy gooseberry aroma with bergamot notes. Sweet, and kind of dry, earthy strawy gooseberry taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, slightly mealy mouthfeel. Dry earthy spicy gooseberry aftertaste with roasty herbal notes. Nice, mellow, drinkable, harmonic, and fairly vivid. Really enjoyed this. (0.33l bottle, from Vinmonopolet Oslo City.)

Bottled. Typical good soulful black ipa fumes an amalgamation of dark texture and floral aromatic notes: grapefruit. pine. Woody. Rich hops. Roasted chocolate. Fucken nice. Looks like a stout. flavours pine. Roast. Chocolate. Spice . Oaty creamy vibes.very easy to sink. Compact good black
