Pours a deliciously thick black with an amazing hop burst rising out of the glass. Packed with the pungent fruit of citra hops the beer’s backbone holds it up well. Exquisitely balanced, with a moderate roast character letting the hops do the bittering. There is sweetness in there but exactly the right amount. This is a hell of a beer.

Quite something. Like a med-robust US double IPA crossed with a smoked porter. Nicely complex fruit + malt balance on nose: mango + peach, on rye bread. Nice dark chocolate, liquorice + bitter hop ride up and down on the way out. Am I wrong to detect something of a cherry liqueur chocolate finish? (Yes, probably wrong.)

Un nez houblonné très présent directement. Les agrumes et le fruit de la passion. En bouche des arômes d'agrumes toujours présent avec des touches grillées délicates.

330 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.4%. Black colour, creamy tan head. Aroma of fruity and piney hops, hints of roast malts and chocolate. The flavour has plenty of piney hops with some fruit, medium dry, also roasty notes of coffee and dark chocolate.

Nice black IPA, bought in Belgium and drank in South Korea. Strong Chocolate, dark malts, grassy, little bit citrus aroma. Medium bodied and carbonated. Chocolate, fruity, hoppy malty bitter finish. Im not sure because this is canned 2 months ago, but I felt this is more likely a porter with hop.

I am a Californian living in Denmark and had a project in Stockholm Sweden: My buddies and I enjoyed The Oliver Twist Pub... With a large list of Tap Beers, I choose Black Betty... I was immediately won over and loved the taste, color and aroma.... I have to find Black Betty in cans near me or mail-order... Or have to buy a flight ticket to Stockholm again !
