This Stout has a load of late hop additions to bring that zest and poke to the nose. Beautiful delicate coffee and chocolate notes lie in the smooth character of the malts.

33cl, new exclusive English brew Anno 2013, from Ales By Mail (UK), complex Stout, roasted/bitter and slightly woody/salty, balanced, cloudy, rocky head, good brew with very original label!

Bottled 330ml ABM. Dark brown color, good beige head. Earthy, coffeeish aroma with tarrish roast. Medium-bodied. Roasted, tobacco flavor. Dark malts, roasty bitterness. Kind of thinnish palate. Too ashy for my liking, perhaps some difference between the batches.

Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Minerally crisp palate, semi dry. Roasty malt with a little coffee but not much bitterness. Thin malt cream and a mild lactose note. Whisper of orange hops. Smooth semi dry finish. Rich malts in a thin palate.

Bottle. Black with a lovely tan film that laces the glass throughout. Best looking label. This a dry stout - salty liquorice, ash and roasted malt. Dark chocolate makes an appearance as the beer warms (and improves). Quite a citric finish. Lively on the tongue to start with, but calms to become lovely and smooth. Made my mouth throb.

Bottle from ales by mail. Black color and HUGE light brown head, its just enormous. Aroma is coffee, roasty, licorice, chocolate. Delicious taste, medium body, balanced, roasty, coffee. But that huge head makes drinking difficult.
