Bloody ‘Ell – We have never brewed a straight IPA at Beavertown, why change the habit of a lifetime! Here we take a stripped back IPA malt bill and highly hop it with the tropics of Amarillo and Citra and pile head on with kilos of Blood Orange zest and juice late in the boil, bringing you a smack of citrus and hints of warm orange aromas. One of our favourite and most popular seasonal brews. We will be canning Bloody ‘Ell too from February until the bloody oranges run dry!

@ Havregatan. Flaska (330 ml) från Systembolaget (33:-). Fruktig, citrus och apelsin, hög sötma, karamell, medelfyllig, oljig i konsistensen. Avslutningen är torr och besk med fruktiga toner av citrus.

Kwg at beircab, barca. Slightly Hazy golden with good lacy white head. Aroma is oranges zest and a bit of pine from the hops. Taste is musky sweetness and bitterness. Prickly and medium. Ok beer.

Poured from bottle, pale hazy gold with high foamy head that slowly settles and the aromas develop. Notes of citrus, orange, some tropical fruit, bread caramel and pine. Taste is refreshingly bitter, light malt body that gives way to a harsh bitterness that slowly fades to a long finish. Really nice one!

Sticky APA aroma. Sticky APA taste. Also smells of my old socks. Cookie cutter APA apart from the socks. I’m guaranteed not to like this.

Keg @ Trades Club, Hebden Bridge. Golden-yellow with a carbonation and a frothy head. There’s lots of tropical fruitiness in this ale which is active in the palate. Both aroma and flavours are well served by its fruit.

Pours hazy deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, grape, orange and orange zest. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long malty, bitter, orange and citrus finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Can from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Clear, golden body. Frothy, white head. Citrus, grapefruit and some malt nose. Medium body. Soft carbonation. A bit grainy. Light bitterness. Soft flavours. Tropical fruit, hint of peach and grapefruit. Citrus. Some pineapple. Orange. Feels like a bordeline APA to IPA.

Burk från SB. Disig gyllengul med väl tilltagen vit skumkrona. Söt doft av exotiska frukter och lite tall. Lätt, mediumsöt kropp med välbalanserad efterbeska. Smak av apelsin, citrus annanas och tall.

330ml can with some rather neat orange silver skull artwork, poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Appearance is hazy yellow with a large beige head. Aroma of blood orange, grapefruit and peaches. Flavour of blood oranges, peaches, grapefruit, and a hint of wheat bread. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied, smooth texture and average carbonation. Beavertown Bloody ’Ell is refreshing and the blood orange zest adds a nice touch, goes down really easily for a 7.2% ABV beer, it’s a little weak on the malts however.
