COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Believe it or not, we had never brewed a pale ale when we started. But once our experimental Alpha Series was launched around 6 months in, we went about constructing the Pale of our dreams. We tweaked malts and hops continuously and eventually came to release a brew known as Gamma Ray. This name came from our Creative Director Nick Dwyer, Who at that time was working on the floor at Duke’s Brew and Que. Nick brought illustrations in every week. It was undeniable, the guy was a force and his imagery resonated deep. We all loved spacemen and lasers – again, simple. So we named the experimental brew Gamma Ray and Nick drew the design - drawing heavily from “mars attacks” and warren ellis graphic novels. Our baby was born. From its release Gamma was perfection for us and joined the Beaver core range. The concept was to create a juicy tropical beer. A brew you can sit on and drink all day, rammed with juicy malts and huge tropical aromas of mango and grapefruit. Massive additions of whole leaf American hops are added in ever increasing numbers at the end of the boil giving huge hop flavour. The beer is then dry hopped for days, driving the punchy aromas so you can smell it from miles away!

Very cold can poured into tulip glass. Pours slightly cloudy amber in colour with a thick off-white head. Aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit and pine. Taste is very citrus and initially very bitter, with grassy undertones but improves with every mouthful. Leaves a nice satisfying lacing around the glass. Very nice beer.

Can from Raynville superstore in Armley, Leeds. Malt and citrus on the nose. Very malty flavour with notes of grapefruit, like many from this brewery it improves with each mouthful and is very moorish. Enjoyable.

Served in a tulip from a 330ml can. Pours golden-amber colour with a thick off-white head. Aroma is a fantastic mixture of tropical fruits, citrus, white grape, pepper and hints of pine resin. Taste is very crisp and clean with bitter citrus, orange, tropical fruits and grass, slightly spicy with a long subtle bitter-sweet finish. Medium body with soft carbonation, very well balanced. Extremely well crafted APA and ticks all the boxes to qualify for a "WOW" factor!!!

Beautiful aroma full of fruitiness: mango, passionfruit, watermelon, grapefruit... The appearance is a gorgeous, bright but hazy beer with lovely levels of carbonation and a frothy white head. Medium-bodied mouthfeel with a perfectly balanced palate. Taste is a slightly sharp but not too over-bearing zing, with resin and citrus notes. The finish is a chewy hoppy aftertaste. Gorgeous American Pale!

300ml can at the Head of Steam, Durham. Pale yellow pour with a frothy white head. Light and hoppy nose, with a faint haylage aroma. Decided notes of hay, light IPA hops lacking in the usual bitterness, and dark biscuit.

Passion fruit. So smooth. Easy to drink but also has that X factor. Just the right level of booze %. Passion fruit not my favourite taste for beer but this is about as good as it gets ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
