Believe it or not, we had never brewed a pale ale when we started. But once our experimental Alpha Series was launched around 6 months in, we went about constructing the Pale of our dreams. We tweaked malts and hops continuously and eventually came to release a brew known as Gamma Ray. This name came from our Creative Director Nick Dwyer, Who at that time was working on the floor at Duke’s Brew and Que. Nick brought illustrations in every week. It was undeniable, the guy was a force and his imagery resonated deep. We all loved spacemen and lasers – again, simple. So we named the experimental brew Gamma Ray and Nick drew the design - drawing heavily from “mars attacks” and warren ellis graphic novels. Our baby was born. From its release Gamma was perfection for us and joined the Beaver core range. The concept was to create a juicy tropical beer. A brew you can sit on and drink all day, rammed with juicy malts and huge tropical aromas of mango and grapefruit. Massive additions of whole leaf American hops are added in ever increasing numbers at the end of the boil giving huge hop flavour. The beer is then dry hopped for days, driving the punchy aromas so you can smell it from miles away!

Colour amber, aroma - pure stone fruit and hop goodness, pallet continues with the tropical fruit punch and lovely malt build, finishing with a good bitterness and then enticing you back for more

The more I drink this, the more I love it. From start to finish it delivers a devine nose with a fruit burst coming all the way through to the first mouthful. Great length and despite its abc, very sessionable

If you follow me, you know I love hops and this baby delivers just that. The nose is full tropical fruit and then the pallet delivers just as much with great mouth feel and great length. One of the best tasted!

Smooth flavour with light hops. Only problem is that if you put it in a jar, and then open that jar. That shit will go EVERYWHERE and get you mad sticky. 3/4.

Can. Amber beer with a good head. The aroma is reasonably hopped, and the flavour is very well hopped with a maltyness and a strong roastedness. Overall a nice American pale ale

A strong fruity smell of oranges and grapefruit. The small white head is milky, the body is orange. A light fruity taste with a rather bitter finish. The body is medium strong, very dry with a normal carbonation.

On Tap @thebrickmakers Vienna. Amazing orange caramel colour slightly cloudy with dense creamy foam on top. Aromas at the begining of litchi, mango, pineapple, peach, citrus oils and honey developing into piney and nutty with a touch of floaral spiciness as the temperature rises. In the mouth a nice medium body and a light creamy texture with the roasted malt flavours coming through and a pleasnat bitterness in the aftertaste
