A nice enough drink, but not very subtle. The alcohol is overly present at the cost of the subtler flavours. Looks good. OK

Gedronken @ RBESG 13 Grand Tasting, zwarte kleur, bruine schuimkraag, ruikt en smaakt naar koffie, rook, wel zoete smaak, op zich wel lekker

Bottle @ RBESG. Aroma is roasty liquorice, molasses and caramel. Flavour is deep bitterness of liquorice and roast with faint hops.

Bottle. Black beer with a medium mocha head that gradually reduces to ring around the side of the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and pontefract cake. Taste is chocolate and pontefract cake again along with some wood, dark berries and a hint smoke. Smooth and full bodied on palate, a little sticky. Another excellent beer from Beavertown.

A very nice imperial stout, more towards the sweet +puddingy than the dry side.

Jet black colour, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and caramel. Sweet flavour, roasted malts, bitter, hops, cacao, quite pronounced hops, liquorice. Finish roasted malts, lingering cacao, lingering bitter. My 2000th rating. Nice brew!! Hoping to taste more from this brewery in the future.
(From 75cL bottle @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting, Bodegraven. Thanks for sharing, Boudicca & chriso!)

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pours with a beautiful brown head. Smooth: glides over the tongue sack. Very dry in terms of its dryness. Warming on the finish and I suppose there is the sweetness of milk chocolate present, at that point. I grant you. Yes it is good.

Black with a decent sized brown head. Aroma of smoke, chocolate, coffee, some dark fruit. Taste is sweet with a long duration, slightly sour & bitter finish. Texture is very thick, smooth, full body, light carbonation. This is a very, very good beer.

33cl bottle. It pours a deep black body with a roasty foamy head. Nose is licorice, dark fruits, coca and espresso. Taste is toffee, espresso, dark chocolate and licorice. Nice vanilla notes in the finish. Texture is very smooth and oily. Very good RIS.
