Bottle thanks to Josh. It pours black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, chocolate, toffee, brown sugar, oily, vanilla, earth and dark fruits. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate, toast, earth, decent bitterness, cocoa butter, ash and spice. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Pretty smooth. Pretty tasty stuff indeed.

Bottle. Poured a wonderful deep dark dense black/brown with a lovely tan head. OK aroma - boozy, coffee, choc, no real sweetness on the nose. It’s pretty bitter and boozy from the get-go with coffee at the forefront and some dark chocolate but not much else happening for me. The big bitterness and the whack of booze is a little much. It’s good, but I was hoping for more complexity.

33cl bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras. Thick black beer with thick tan head. Blackcurrant and blackberry flavour. Good fruity impy stout with quite light and agile. Just a touch of newspaper. Yeah I liked it. Surprisingly fruity touch of chocolate. Yes, pretty good.

Bottle at Jack’s farewell at Bruce’s. Pours black with a tan ring for a head and heavy lacing. Nose is roasted espresso beans, some dark fruits and heavy bittering chocolate. Some light woody notes in coming out. Taste is dark and powdery chocolate, some ashy espresso and wood. Creamy full mouth feel with some heavy lengthy bitterness. Very good stuff

Bottle @ Bruce’s. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The aroma’s of roasted wood, some chocolate, toasted brown bread. Rich caramel, nuts. The taste is gratuitously rich, full of ashy roast. Wood, bitter dark chocolate. Some dried tobacco. Full and viscous. Smooth big body. Overall, very tasty stuff. Good.

Magnificent stout from my new favourite UK brewer. Great beer after great beer. I could stare into the glorious dark tan head of this for ever , but get distracted by the massive chocolatey and coffee nose and the velvet glove that strokes my thigh higher and higher until i just have to dive into the oily depths. Big hitting chocolate then sharp espresso then a mineral finish with slow burning sweet sharp zing. Amazing warming satisfying mouthful.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; black pour with velvety tan head, love a stout that makes a glugging noise when being poured, sweet coffee aroma, coffee taste quite sweet hint, dark chocolate, some earthy notes, bitter end. Engine oil thickness makes a wonderfully silky mouthfeel. Impressive work from the Beaver Boys.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - many thanks to Josh. Pours dark brown with a frothy brown head. Good dark malt nose, some dirt, roasted coffee, burnt cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, plenty of bittersweet chocolate, coffee grounds, bitter earth, toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, plenty of bitter earth, coffee, baking cocoa, restrained booziness. Lingering baking cocoa. Great beer overall.
