3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Soft tan head, thick black body, dry woody nose - little depth. Stern imperial, prickly booze without being laced with masses of flavour. Smoothly drinkable, but no kick to this. Very well put together, a solid imperial blueprint. I hope they’ve chucked some in barrels of a whiskey variety.

A nice enough drink, but not very subtle. The alcohol is overly present at the cost of the subtler flavours. Looks good. OK

Bottle. Black beer with a medium mocha head that gradually reduces to ring around the side of the glass. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and pontefract cake. Taste is chocolate and pontefract cake again along with some wood, dark berries and a hint smoke. Smooth and full bodied on palate, a little sticky. Another excellent beer from Beavertown.

A very nice imperial stout, more towards the sweet +puddingy than the dry side.

Jet black colour, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and caramel. Sweet flavour, roasted malts, bitter, hops, cacao, quite pronounced hops, liquorice. Finish roasted malts, lingering cacao, lingering bitter. My 2000th rating. Nice brew!! Hoping to taste more from this brewery in the future.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pours with a beautiful brown head. Smooth: glides over the tongue sack. Very dry in terms of its dryness. Warming on the finish and I suppose there is the sweetness of milk chocolate present, at that point. I grant you. Yes it is good.
