Opaque black - brown beer with a big fluffy tan head. Palate is viscous, airy and a little soft. The dark malt is soft and a little creamy. Dry coffee bitterness provides contrast. Trace of brandyish alcohol spice. Sweetish lactose and light plummy fruits. Semi dry finish. Overall quite a tangy beer and it could use a little less tang. Nice though. Need a BA version!

Medium sweet flavor, plenty of bittersweet chocolate, coffee grounds, bitter earth, toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, plenty of bitter earth, coffee, baking cocoa, restrained booziness. Lingering baking cocoa. Great beer overall.
