COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION The Bollywood of beers. We wanted to build a recipe which really pushed the love affair between dark malts and hops. So we designed the brew around allowing the hops to sing on top of a dark malt bomb. We aimed to brew an almost dark chocolate-like base beer and then piled on with the tropics of summit and centennial hops, lifting the waves of smooth chocolate off the tongue. We categorise Holy Cowbell as an India stout. ‘India’ coming from the same meaning behind ‘India’ pale ale. Basically lots and lots of hops added in their masses at the end of the boil and then in dry hop, to extract maximal hop flavour and aroma!

Couleur brun foncé; petite mousse beige; arômes et goût maltés, de café, de chocolat noir et fruités (pas assez pour une black IPA); finale qui manque un peu d’amertume pour une BIPA

(Beavertown Holy Cowbell India Stout) Can 330 ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 5.6% Dark brown colour on the body, with a huge and thick beige head, very good retention. Nice aroma of citrusy hops, grapefruit, followed by roasted malts, cold coffee. Taste is more on the stout side, roasted malts, cold coffee, dark chocolate, with some citrus, grapefruit and even some pine. Medium body with good carbonation. Pretty good.

Sampled at SBWF 2015. Small lingering brown head. Nice clear red brown color. Roasted malts with chocolate and fresh hop aroma. Roasted malts with big hop taste for a stout. Dry finish.

Klasse. 0,33l Dose von BEYOND BEER HH. ca. 3,50 Euro.

330ml can served in a pint glass. Pours a dark brown close to black color forming a big, creamy, soapy and solid beige head with good retention that forms and leaves lots of lingering soapy lacings in the glass. Nose is sweet and roasty. Notes of roasted malts, chocolate malts, caramel malts, grassy and herby hops. Slightly boozy finish. Slightly sweet upfront taste. Notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread and grassy hops. Hints of raisins and earth. Good bitter finish. Not very persistent thought. Full body. Medium carbonation. Roasted malts and dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Great drinkability. Excellent Black IPA.

Slightly like a dark IPA. Pours cola coloured and thick with a murky yellow head, which evaporated quickly. Nose: caramel, dark chocolate, some grass, pine and earth. Taste: caramel, sweet roasted malts, liquorice, dark chocolate and those unusual green grassy\pine notes. A good beer I would try it again. Price Paid: £2.25 can.

Near black with a lasting off-white head. Roasted aroma with coffee and chocolate, along with pine, floral and grassy hops. Dry roasted flavour with grassy and floral notes. A bit thin

black opaque and topped by a layer of dark foam and quite durable. Aroma of roasted malt, but also found notes of cocoa, coffee, caramel, pine, ragáliz, resin and grapefruit. In the first drinks coffee, roasted and a citrus bitterness they are fairly obvious but will give way to the most resinous part and a dry bitterness.

Served in a tulip from a 330ml can. Pours dark brown colour with a tan head which is diminishing rather quickly. Aroma is smoke, dark fruit, coffee and chocolate notes, soft hoppy notes are there too. Taste is very much following the nose - smoke, dark fruit, coffee and chocolate notes, finishing off with subtle hoppy notes and very gentle bitterness. Medium body with medium carbonation. Another excellent brew by Beavertown, very well balanced and enjoyable.
