This vividly flavoured stout is a great example, with powerful piny hoppy notes melding with chocolate and oozy brown malt and wafts of tropical fruit on the aroma.

Bottle at home picked up from Bottledog KingsX. Almost opaque black coloured pour with some ruby red hues when held in the light. Lively medium tan head that lasts. Aroma is rounded, slightly ashy roast, some jammy fruit and pine hops. Flavour is ashy roast, cocoa, some toasted bread, orange peel, pine hops. Palate is light and chalky, slightly thin with highish carbonation. Lingering sharp roast and citrus. Really solid, black IPA, punchy for the ABV.

Bottle from Cornelius. Shared with jamestulloch. Pours a black with a thick fudge head which slowly fades. At first you get a IPA style aromas with floral and citrus notes. As it warms you get more chocolate and roasted malts. Lovely flavours of roasted coffee beans with a sweet dark chocolate bitter finish.

Bottle shared at the brewery. Opaque black color, medium to full sized lightly brown head that lasts for a long time. Aroma has malts, coffee, liquorice. Something in the aroma annoys me, but I can’t really tell what it is. Taste malts, lightly roasty, liquorice again, lightly coffee. Don’t know what to think of this beer, I like it but at the same time I don’t.

This is a really fruity tasty stout thay has a fantastic balance to it’s carbonation whilst leaving a beautifully velvety afterraste. This must be tried.

Bottle at home. Pours a dark brown black with an off white head. Aroma is choc, citrus, coffee, grass... Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Its zesty and fizzy and deep and rich and there is coffee and choc and zingy citrus candy... Balance is just perfect. Good stuff.
