In mid 2013 the brewery altered their recipe for this beer, changing it from a bitter to a pale ale. (The RateBeer entry for the bitter is now retired.)

330ml can. Hazy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Piney hoppy aroma, notes of pineapple, additionally some unspecific citrusy hoppy flavours. Taste delivers identical, fully lasting flavours, no abatement of intensity in the finish. Very nice.

Clear straw if you poor carefully from the can. Big white head that ends in an island. Lacing all the way til the end. Aroma of citrus and resin. Chrispy mouthfeel. Taste dry and thick malt, like a rye IPA. Grapefruit and floral. Lively carbonation.

Keg - The Fat Cat Brewery Tap, Norwich. A hazy yellow with a lasting, creamy and lacing one-finger white head. Took a while to show, initially starting a little closed and buttery but once it opened the fragrant, zesty citrus and tropical fruit characters really shone. Light to medium body, crisp mouthfeel with a brisk carbonation and moderate length, modest intensity finish. Downright smashable.

0.33 tap. Hazy, yellow color and a small white head. Aroma of flowers, exotic fruits, coniferous trees, and perhaps a tad of resin. Taste is bitter, hoppy, delicately fruity, again some resin. Medium body, slick texture althogh it is a bit thick, and a lively carbonation. Finish is medium long, refreshingly bitter but at the same time balanced. Overal a pretty nice brew.

Ok beer for a thirsty day. Not exciting, but quite refreshing. This is one which I would take with me on a camping trip where I needed something to enjoy myself after a hot day trekking the woods, without making me to dizzy.
