In mid 2013 the brewery altered their recipe for this beer, changing it from a bitter to a pale ale. (The RateBeer entry for the bitter is now retired.)

Can from Cellar Door, Four Oaks. Pours cloudy yellow, golden, 2 finger white head. Aroma of hops, lemon, smoke, sweetness, pine. Taste of initial pine, then smokiness, loads of lemon, the smokiness isn’t overpowering it must be said, loads of orange, then some more pine and a hoppy bitter finish, good.

Can, Slim’s Pork Chop Express, Liverpool. Clear golden pour crowned with a reasonable white head. Pale malts, citrus and fragrant hop in the nose. Tidy hoppage in the flavour alongside grapefruit , malts and straw. Bitterness on point. Light, easy drinking and very refreshing. A quality session IPA that scores highly on drinkability. Nice to see this becoming more widely available.

Slightly hazy golden color with hugue white fluffy head. Aroma is hoppy, tropical and citric, with a bready and a malty backbone. Taste follows the aroma, with grapefruit, mango, lemon and a good bready background. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Really tasty to be a Session IPA.

Aroma: Floral, hoppy aroma. Slight hint of straw, and orangepeel.
Appearance: Pours a straw colour. Light, lingering head.
Taste: Bitter hops, bread dough, and a faint lemongrass hit.
Palate: A mellow bitterness, with a mild citrusy aftertaste. Light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Really digging this one. Nice aromas, beautiful colour, tasty, if a little muted flavours. Very refreshing.

Pretty disgusting name... :-) Fresh hops, light and appealing. Super summery ! Light bitter yet crisp and still not boring. It’s hard to describe because that sounds boring yet is super tasty. Really full flavoured and fresh. The can is a superb packaging for a beer like this. Yes, very successful brew. (Can from Refactoring Northern Monk brewpub)

Can at home. Has a hazy, dull, dark yellow color with a big, creamy, white head. Fruity aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, pine and grass. The flavor has more grass, dry hay, grains and some lemon juice. Has a slick and light mouth feel, and light bitterness. An easy drinking, hoppy ale without much bitterness. Well-balanced.
