Cloudy amber - brown beer, big off white head. Palate is a little soft with medium carbonation. Minerals. Nice bitterish orange peel and marmalade. Trace of lemon. Semi dry finish with medium bitterness. Good stuff!

1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle from Royal Mile Whiskeys, brew date 1 Aug 2012. Colour is clearish toasty amber, big foam head which stays. Nose is bold. Quite a lot of new nylon trainers/sneakers smell, quite a lot of caramel and toffee and then a fair amount of citrous . Taste has that new sneakers thing going on again, lots of pine and a lot of that rubbery thing. Not liking the burnt rubbery tang on this much at all. Drain pour.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft @ The Union Tavern. Part of Beavertown’s Alpha series of experimental brews. The pour’s deep hazy amber with a small head. The nose is big salty seagrass, citrus fruits, burning floral hops and tropical mango. Nice. The taste is brash bitter tropical undergrowth, more mango and salty lime cocktail. There’s a pleasingly chalky yeast presence to this beer. The flavors haven’t been filtered down and subdued. This is a somewhat messy but very tasty APA. Medium body, active mouthfeel. Overall, very impressive. Beavertown are on the rise.
