Smog Rocket Smoked Porter - Thick, dark & Robust
Inspired by the Industrial Revolution and the Steam Train.
Back in those days, the Porter was the everyday toast of the working-class masses. Let’s raise a glass to the people that made Britain ’Great’.

Porter. The way it’s meant to be.

DAA; Bottle 330ML. Pours black with a small to moderate, lasting, creamy, lacing and tan head. Nose is heavy roasted, smoked malt, coffee, vanilla chocolate and dark fruit. Taste is moderate sweet and light bitter with a somewhat lasting, smoked finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

ClubGonzo (4053) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 22, 2014
Bottle. Pours a black body with a small off-white head. Nose is licorice, leather, dark fruits, toffee and hints of burnt rubber, smoke and chocolate. Taste is coffee, ashes, chocolate, mild licorice, caramel and hints of smoke, burnt rubber and leather. Light body, soft to medium carbonation. A bit strange, and not quite as smoky as to make an impression. I’ve had better from Beavertown. Bad bottle, perhaps?

Pours dark coffee color with a strong light brown head from a can. Nose has roasty coffee aromas and a complex smoky character. Taste follows suit with a rather nondescript palate. A nice, if not superb smoked porter.

ElManana (250) - Scheldewindeke, BELGIUM - SEP 18, 2014
Bottle @ RBBSG III. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is smoke, BBQ, fire lighters. The taste is surprisingly much less smoke (but there’s still some evident), roasted malt,, hint of caramel with a dry finish. Loved the taste much more than the aroma.

Coffee, chocolate, bacon, smoke and leather in the aroma. Dark brown to black with a red tint, tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Full body with a soft carbonation. Overall a nice Porter, but not very much smokiness

From bottle at Grünerløkka Mat & Mikro Festival 2014. Black body with a small beige head. Aroma of peated malt, toffee, earthy hops. Taste of coffee, smoked bacon, light wooden, dark chocolate. Quite nice, though a bit watery and shortlived taste. Dry roasty aftertaste with peat hints.

Half pint, Euston tap. A: Dark opaque, small tanned head, good retention plus lacing. A: Quite meaty, some smoke. T: Bit of cranberry and slightly off fruits, smokey without being a smoke bomb, also had hints of espresso and dark chocolate. M: Light body, low carbonation, very smooth. O: kept things balanced by not overdoing the smoke, a (comparatively) low strength smoked dark doppelbock.

ABS (478) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 9, 2014
Bottle from Vinmonopolet Sørlandssenteret. Pours close to black, with a brown to red hue. Some fizzy, light brown head. Alcohol, malt and some chocolate nose. Quite bitter. Some sweetness. Dry. Some alcohol warmth. Medium body. Quite low carbonation. Cold coffee, some malt and chocolate flavour. Some smoke, but surprisingly little. Quite low on flavour in my opinion.

Poured from a can, lovely dark colour with thinish tan head. Mildly sweet wood smoke flavour reminding me slightly of smoked bacon and very smooth. Very drinkable
