Smog Rocket Smoked Porter - Thick, dark & Robust
Inspired by the Industrial Revolution and the Steam Train.
Back in those days, the Porter was the everyday toast of the working-class masses. Let’s raise a glass to the people that made Britain ’Great’.

Porter. The way it’s meant to be.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Low fluffy lasting light yellow head. Pitch black body. Solid coffee and roasted malt aroma. Smooth and yet powerful roasted malt coffee flavor. Simple but good. Hittle hops bitterness. Low carbonation. Long finish.

Appearance: Transparent black with some ruby notes. A tan head that disappears fast.
Aroma: Smoked bacon.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet with a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Bacon, peat and dark malty.
Overall impression: Decent ale, but not something for me. Quite balanced though.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with Rasmus40

Bottle 330ml (AbM)
Dark, almost opaque brown-ruby color, small brown head. Aroma has smoke and caramel. Medium-bodied, quite robust for this ABV. Caramel, lightly toasted maltyness, smoke. Quite low bitterness. Sweetish porter. Smokeyness is not aggressive.

From a bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head, smoked aroma, very smooth, full bodied with rich roasted and chocolate flavours. Smoked is not my normal favourite style but this was very nice.

On tap, at The Local Pub, Athens. Mahogany - black, with a generous tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and smoke. Taste, more of the same earthiness, with some vanilla and a hint of licorice. Proper bitter aftertaste. I am seriously starting to develop an addiction to just about everything Beavertown brews, and this is another new favourite. Really interesting, but also managing to be balanced, and just a joy to drink.

Keg in Stormbird. Opaque very dark brown, creamy foam off white to tan head. Nose is black coffee, black sugar, lactic, sweet, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate. Taste has some saltier molasses flavours against the sweet black sugar, dark chocolate, lactic, and malty roasted malt, coffee, smokey malt.
