Smog Rocket Smoked Porter - Thick, dark & Robust
Inspired by the Industrial Revolution and the Steam Train.
Back in those days, the Porter was the everyday toast of the working-class masses. Let’s raise a glass to the people that made Britain ’Great’.

Porter. The way it’s meant to be.

Pours very dark brown with a very thin beige head which dissipates extremely quickly. Aroma is strong coffee, BBQ sauce, smoke, toffee and caramel. Taste is smoked meat, cold coffee, caramel and a light bitterness. For a porter, is disappointingly thin bodied and seems watered down. Short to medium bitter finish.

33cl can from Viking XPRS. Pours black with a dissipating beige head. Roasty and smoky aroma with dark chocolate, dark fruits and mild wooden notes. Medium to moderate sweet, flavourful with nice and balanced smoky notes and a light acidity. Pleasant and easy to drink. Could easily have more of this.

Can into cup at bishop's. Pours a very dark brown, no light penetration. Very smoky nose, hints of coffe and smoked pork. Taste was disappointing, a vague lingering smokiness. Would have liked a bit more taste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Jet black color with medium brown coffee foam. Aromas of dark malts, oats and in a way reminds of milk stout? With some lighter smokey and charcoaly undertones. Palate, medium body with smooth texture leaving intense dark malt finish. Taste lightly bitter in dark malts and chocolate resulting in smokey woody and chacoaly end. Overall, nice not as intense on smoke as I thought it would be but still very nice beer!

rauchbier (3808) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - SEP 29, 2016
Can. Jet black with red flashes, thin but sustained cream-white head and gentle condition. Excellent smokey nose with hints of roasted coffee beans, sweet chocolate, blackcurrant, liquorice and delicate estery phenol. In the mouth it is quite dry at the beginning, with a gentle wood smoke note, before some sweet chocolate and dusty coffee bean notes develop, there is a delicate earthy bitterness and a low level berry fruitiness but ultimately the mouth lacks the complexity shown in the nose. The finish has some lingering roast coffee and woodsmoke, and a gentle chalky bitterness.

From the can. Pours very dark with a thin light brown head. Aroma is lots of smoke, and underneath it all, hints of dark chocolate. Taste is mildly bitter, but also increasingly sour on the swill, and ends with black soot in an otherwise sour finish. A faint oatmeal sweetness is noticeable, but the sourness and the smoke have the upper hand here. Mild carbonation on a medium body. Decent stuff.
