COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark beer, brewed with a mix of 3 malts: pilsner, caramunich and caramel; not too much hopped. The lesser sister of the Motor Oil is easier to drink, characterized by a darker color, correct bitterness, light palate but persistent, a cap of thick and aromatic foam. Medium alcohol content.

Objectively speaking: A thin and non descript stout among a sea of better rivals
I like: Not much.
I dislike: Sweet and thin bodied, this considerably lactic stout escapes the astringence disaster only because its roastiness is feeble and powdery. Unpleasant yeastiness all throughout. Not much stout character.

Bottle in Bologna. Very dark, syrupy aroma. Burned sugar, liquorice. Sweet and sour, soy sauce, menaing salty. I’d have this with sushi. Or I’d mariande some pork in it. I’m afraid this does not work very well as a beer. Maybe in Finland, where they want everything to taste of salty liquorice?

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2007 Draught at "Salone della Birra Artigianale 2007" - Milan.
Compact and adherent head of good duration. Intense black color with mahogany reflexes. Roast malty and burned wood scent. Smooth, dry taste, decidedly mellow and velvety with a good body slightly jejune on the end. Milky and with a light notes of chocolate. A lot balanced bitter and alcoholic content.

Very dark color, thin creamy head. The aroma has some light sweetness and sourness. The flavor is better: light structure, some malt, quite good and delicate roasted malt, milky; light smokeyness. Unfortunately also this beer by Beba is a bit spoiled by what seems to be an infection or a bad yeast; nevertheless it’s probably the most interesting they have.
