Clear mahogany with a tiny beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and coffee hints. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, watery coffee and toffee. Sweet finish.

Bottle 50 cl. RBESG Rome 2010. Pours an opaque dark brown with an orange hue and a beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malt and a whiff of butter. Medium body, hard roasted - but not burned - malt and a little licorice and vanilla. The finish is mellow and subdued with a very discreet bitterness. 070610

Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy, good - fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light coffee and chocolate, toffee notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, thin coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100607]

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt, light breadish. Dark roasted malt, liqourice and dark breadish. Mild acidic touch. Lingering dark malty and liqourice flavours into the far finish.

Bottled. A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with notes of roasted malt lending it an acidic edge, combined with a bit of licorice, leading to a roasted finish. Raw.

0.5 l bottle at Helsinki Beer Festival. Hazy dark brown color. Chocolatey, nutty and worty aroma. The flavor is worty, nutty and slightly chocolatey with hint of charcoal and low bitterness. Very mellow, needs more roast and bitterness.

Deep ruby color, average beige head. Light cocoa powder and caramel aroma. Light to medium bodied. Grassy hoppyness (but low bitterness), some chocolate and caramel. Short finish. A bit like some lager yeasted porter.

(Bottled) Dark reddish brown with a small, lacy and beige head. Aroma of sourish malt, licorice and coffee. Slightly sour malty flavor with some ashiness, touch of caramel, and low bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. A decent stout. 5245

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a solid beige head. Complex fruity, smoked caramel aroma, followed by potent earthy notes. Roasted malts, even smoked flavours, offsetting smoothing vanilla and sugary sweetness. Earthiness and moss. Rich and full-bodied. The earthiness adds considerable complexity; this is no run-of-the-mill stout.
