Cask at GBBF09. Alround rating: Nice and clean pale malt, little caramel, good hoppy bitterness, dry and balanced. Good stuff, i should have drunk more lagers this year.

Draught GBBF 09. A lager gold coloured beer with a big white head. The aroma has good spicy prickly grassy hops. Crisp and clean hop flavours with a good malt backbone. A stylish unfiltered lager.

Cask@GBBF, 2009. Golden beer with a yeasty aroma, and a yeasty and quite sugary sweet flavour. Overall a very poor beer.

Bottle, from brewer. Rich warm gold with thick white head. Fresh bright minerally hoppy aroma with some pepper notes. Flavors are maltier, sweeter than the aromas. Silky palate. Many metallic flavors. Dry spicy finish. Nice.

Bottle at Novare Res. Fear not the name Beck, it’s not the same as the dreaded BECKS. Although some non-beerophiles that stopped by the bar ordered a bunch of these thinking it was (what a waste). So anyway this pours a golden color with a white head. Lots of bubbles! The flavor is very fine and crisp. Dry, appley and light.

HAd it at GBBF 2008. NOt so special, maybe the name Back scares a little. BUt it was nice aftertaste after dirnking it.

Bügelverschlußflasche (purchased at the brasserie): Deep golden, mid-sized white head, visible carbonation; aromatic hops and bready/malty traces in the aroma; low carbonation, moderate to stronger bitter-sweet flavour; lingering malty and bitter finish. Decent franconian stuff..........

(swing top bottle) Clear, deep golden colour with a big and lacy foamy white head. Hearty herbal hops aroma with a tinge of honey and cara-malt in the background. Sweet-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied with a well-carbonated soft mouthfeel. Good malty base with aromatic herbal hops right from the start and subtle fruity accents; quite dry and lingering hoppy, slightly floral finish. A gem.
