Commercial Description:
Beck's Dark is rich and smooth with a lingering, slightly sweet aftertaste. The deep ebony color is the result of specially roasting the barley malt. Unlike dark ales, Beck's Dark is a bottom-fermented lager which creates a robust flavor and full body while retaining the refreshing properties of a lager beer.

24 oz. bottle. Almost no nose, but it looks good in a glass. Head does not last long, with only traces of lace. High turnover for this in my local market, so have had few skunked ones. Negligible body, and though roasted flavor does not last, it’s better than the regular lager. Better choice than a macro-brew for Sunday football.

Hoppy nose, some slight caramel. Dark brown color, some amber notes, medium head. Toasty sweetness, bitterness is very present. Medium carbonation, lighter body, crisp finish. Seemed very similar to regular Becks with some dark malts added. This gives it a little more complexity, and the beer is not bad.

Thanks to can8ianben! Better than some dunkels I have had but this brew is especially prone to skunkiness... I don’t know if it is how the distributors handle it but there is a sour malt overtone that I just can’t quite handle. Some good sweetness, roasted malts and carbonation... I first thought it might be a schwarzbier.

Poured a dark brown with a medium dark head. Aroma was of slight roasted malts. The flavor was acceptable, though not as strong as I had hoped. There was some roasted maltiness in the flavor, but nothing overall stood out to me. Had a clean, refreshing finish, but I was left wanting a little more. This wasn’t a bad beer, but there are much better dunkels out there.

A nice clear brown, almost chocolate-dark and rather appetizing. Aroma is not strong but inviting, malty with a touch of apple or pear. Flavor is rather enjoyable, mainly malty with just a hint of hops, a whisper of sweetness, and some fruity taste. Finish is smooth and refreshing.

Pours a dark brown that can be seen though under a light with a lightly fizzy tan/offwhite head. Actually it looks almost the same as pepsi or cola Smells a little skunky and of caramel. The flavor isn’t to bad of a slight burnt malt, little caramel, and a touch of coffee but also has a little skunkyness to it. These flavors are pretty light and weak but it was expected from becks. Slighty smooth and a little refreshing but I wouldn’t buy it again
