Kevbo99 (149), Dunmore, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 11, 2002 Most that i have had of this was skunked. First off because no one buys it. but the few times i got good bottles they were ok. so i guess i wont slaughter this one.
wheelz843 (137), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Dec 30, 2008 bottle. has a rich aroma of hops and raisins. pours almost black with decent amount of tan head. tastes of roasted malts and fruits like raisins and prunes. has a bit of a bitter finish. Butters (733), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee, USA Dec 30, 2008 Clear mahogany with rich ruby highlights and large light tan head that fades quickly. Nose is toasted toffee and caramel malt and some hints of molassis as it warms. Flavor is a little nutty, and musty. Heavy on malt. Cloying and coffee bitter finish. this and Redhook ESB are the only two beers my father-in-law keeps stocked, so while im not crazy about it, I guess it could be worse. Dredd (404), Ormond, Australia Dec 30, 2008 Aroma is slight coffee/mocha, pour is ruby brown with thin head. Flavour is quite thin, slight coffee and nuttiness, but that is about it.
