lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA Jan 16, 2007 Best Before End 07/2007
Pours a clear golden brown with a thin but lacy ivory head. Smells of biscuity caramel malt.
Tastes of caramel malt with a nice balancing level of noble hops. Finishes clean. Body is a bit thin and unsatisfying. Average in every sense of the word.
mcjay (35), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bland and flavorless, not much on hops or malts. Just watery, same as the other Beck’s brews. robforbes (736), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 6, 2008 pours a clear dark amber with a medium size off-white head.
smell is faint, light caramel, malt.
taste of malt, caramel, touch of spice, grain, ends on the dry side.
overall weak for an oktoberfest but still drinkable. puboflyons (374), New Hampshire, USA Sep 1, 2008 From a 12 fl. oz. bottle marked: "Best Before: 06.2009" L-15784A. Pours very orange-amber with a little bit of off-white head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Reasonable body. Taste of malts, hops, and something spicy or maybe vaguely fruity. Maybe even a little bitter. Not half bad. noncaloric (52), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle, pilsner glass. Pours a lovely clear amber-orange. Not much head, but what there is leaves a nice lacing. Aroma of cider malts, slightly roasty. Malt flavor is nice, but simple and short lived. Mellow on the tongue, complemented by carbonated sparkles. Hops bitterness combine unfavorably with the roasted element to give a slightly burnt-tasting finish. beerdad (45), Kansas, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottled. Pours amber with off white head. Not what I expect in an octoberfest. Smells like becks with more roasted malt. Tastes like regular becks with a touch of nuts and caramel. It’s average.
