3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. The pour was a clear medium brown with an average sized (1-2 finger) head that was just a shade off of white with lacing that was almost non-existent.
The aroma was of toasted bread malts, a mild herbal hop and a soapy yeast with a mild hint of toffee, dried fruit and some spice.
The taste was nice and malty with just a hint of sweetness at first then became a bit more on the bitter side and a little acetic with a mild hoppy-sweet flavor at the end. The flavor lasted an average amount of time for this style of beer.
Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a nice lively carbonation.
Overall a light Oktoberfest, with a nice balance of flavors making it quite drinkable. It is typical of the Märzen style and a tasty brew.

Took 2 of these from a friends party, enjoyed at home. It’s ok, nothing outstanding, not a great Oktoberfest brew, but gets the job done.

Out of the green bottle... Nothing really sticking out worth mentioning... It seems like an average beer.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at in-laws into pint glass, clear copper color with white head. Aroma of toasted malt, some grain and faint caramel. Taste adds some earthiness and faint herbal/spicey note. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Leans kind of Oktoberfest light.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. Bland and uninteresting. Low on flavor and taste. Stay with a regular Beck’s and skip this one.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Skunk and cardboard nose. Crystal clear copper, thick yellow head. Cereal grain, dried leaves, honey accent, mild. Light body. Traditional flavor of an authentic maerzen, but very tame.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A lighter, easy Oktoberfest. Barely any malt, character, but there’s a hint of caramel. The hops are present with some bitter notes. Crisp, thin, light and easy. Overall not bad but not great.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Zoo Brew. Pours a gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread and grains with a bit of sweetness underlying. Flavor a good amount of earthy grains with some bread and a touch of sweetness.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a copper color with a one finger rather fizzy white head. The head has a decent level of retention, fading to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rather light overall. While light, there are aromas of caramel and a bit of roasted malt. Along with these smells are some notes of apple and some spice.
Taste – The taste begins with a roasted and bready taste. The flavors are on the lighter side overall. From the start there is a little bit of caramel and lighter fruits as well (apple and pear). The sweetness grows more toward the middle only to weaken as the flavor advances to the end. Along with the loss of a bit of the sweet, some moderate spice flavors of nutmeg and clove as well as a bit of an herbal flavor comes to the tongue, leaving an overall drier, roasted malt, and lightly spiced flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average to slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. A little more thickness in body may have been slightly better for the roasted malt flavors of the brew, but overall it was a rather drinkable feel and quite decent for the style.
Overall – A decent Oktoberfest, but overall a little subdued in flavor. An easy drinking autumn style brew that may be nice when tailgating or just socializing outdoors with friends.
