Bottle from Total Wine. Noble hop aroma. Gives the impression of real Beck’s. Pale golden color with a decent white head. Near medium body with creamy/fizzy carbonation. The flavor is grassy hop with very light pale malt backing. The principal impression is grassy bitter, and that’s the finish. Doesn’t seem quite crisp and clean, but it’s better than any Bud.

Bottle. Poured clear pale color with an average fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Light grass hop aroma. Light body with soft carbonation. Light bitter flavor with a small acidic bitter finish of short duration. Better than the normal light brew.

BeerandBlues2 (9068) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - NOV 23, 2005
Bottle. Pours light gold, still, with a patchy white film on top. Aroma is grassy, sour grain and light malt, yeast (sweat). Watery light malt (meal, grain) and sour yeast sweat flavor, medium acidity with a slight dry finish. Light bodied and thin, watery palate. Actually it is fairly easy to drink.

Drake (7926) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - APR 26, 2012
Bottle. Holy skunk Batman! Pours a very pale yellow with a head that fades a wee bit faster than the speed of light. Aroma of skunk and acrid grain with a bit of toastiness peeking out. The taste is bitter grassy hops, faint malts, and some skunk in the finish. Thin and watery. The only upside to this beer is that it makes the Shock Top on deck almost seem appealing. Ugh.

Bottle. Sour light vinegar malt aroma. Light yellow color with small head. Tastes like mineral water somebody spilled vinegar in or like a bottle of Gerolsteiner mineral water that was opened a couple of days prior. Boy I’ve tried some crap today. In US, I’d go with Michelob ultra amber before this and in Germany, would definitely go with Bitburger Light first.

6 pack. Fizzing gold, short-lived sudsy top. But let’s face it, you’re not meant to put this beer in a glass. Curry house lager, dish water, toasted cereal and honey aroma. Better flavour with some of the rabbit hutch, hay, breadstick and honey character of it’s bigger brother. Slight bitterness, cereal finish. Palatable low alcohol with intact hop and malt flavours- chilled and from the bottle after a long night’s work/tedium/wood-chopping, even better than palatable. 64 Kcal is astonishing- can see me sinking a few more 6 packs of this in order to rediscover mine. Decent lager, ludicrously underrated.
