Pours a pale gold with some head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is corn and some malt. Flavor is very bland. Very slight malt. Some vegetables. Slightly bitter but very light on flavor. Not much going. Slightly sweet and medium bodied. Finishes slightly sweet.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Pilsner glass From: Cherokee Market Beer & Wine Price: $8.99 for a 6-pack Purchased: Oct. 25, 2013 Consumed: Oct. 25, 2013 Misc.: Pretty nice looking black bottle Poured a honey golden clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of frothy white head. Tons of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Sporadic spots of foggy lacing along the sides of the glass on the way down. Good retention for a pilsner on the top. Smelled cloves, banana, honey, faint Circus Peanuts, bread, banana bread, caramel, apple, faint pumpkin and kiwi. More like a hefeweizen or something similar than a pilsner, but I did dig it. Tasted not as much like the smell as I’d hoped. Got honey, bread, apple, kiwi, caramel, banana bread and some cloves. Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt, refreshing finish. Does not feel like 6.00 percent ABV, maybe more like 4.80. I was pleasantly surprised with Beck’s Sapphire. Not too bad at all and I’ll certainly enjoy the rest of this 6-pack.

Pours a soft and clean straw blonde with one finger of white head. Nose is soft and bready with some mellow herbal hop notes and lightly vegetal character. Flavor is super round and mellow. Actually very smooth. Almost nonexistent hop bitterness and very bland flavor. Bready/doughy malt and that’s about it. Wish it were more crisp to accompany the smoove.

Bottled from Bargain Market. Fairly crisp grains up front with a touch of an off flavor to it. Mildly hopped with a bit of a sweet undertone. Not bad. A pretty pedestrian brew here.

Average (well, less than average) lager. Don’t be fooled by the Beck’s name, it’s Bud. This was also brewed in Germany, and probably better. Weak aroma and taste, dull appearance, another weak North American pale lager.

Pours dark gold with a large white head that leaves fast. Aroma is a bit sweet, slightly grainy, simple and non offensive. Taste is pretty much sweet water, mild grain notes, smooth and easy to drink. Not horrible.

This beer is an accurate golden color pouring with a big white head that settles to a film before sip 2. Its good from a bottle. Has some good hop bite and a medium body. Pour it in a glass and lose all that. You get corn and some foul graininess... and a thick body for a pale lager. I know its supposedly 6%, feels more like 4.5, but anyway, its too heavy for a pale lager. And why does ABInbev need to compete with itself’s bud light platinum?

Bottle. Pouts clear yellow with white head. Nose and taste of corn, metal and grain. Lighter bodied. Skunk finish.

16 ounce can, made as a drunk purchase at a Speedway gas station a few months ago. Served in a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass, the beer pours a clear gold color with an inch and a half off-white head. It smells like sweet malt, light apples and that’s about it. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some bready malt noticeable. Doesn’t smell good, but not awful either. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a bit slick and easy enough to drink. Moderate carbonation. It’s not a bad brew, but I’d only recommend it if you want a tick or if you can get a single can or bottle of it like I did.

Not what I was expecting from this brew. Relatively bland in most categories except its nice golden appearance with nice steady lacing movement. Nothing offensive, as others have said, but not interesting. Just a mildly hoppy pale lager w/ almost artificial sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
