2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I really liked this beer probably since it was 6% and $10.49/12pk, without all the next day side effects of other beers with similar characteristics (GI distress, headache, etc.). The good news is its selling for $6.99/12pk, the bad news is because its on clearance because they aren’t making it anymore.

1.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Golden yellow. Clear. Nose is pale malt, cardboard, stale, corn, metal; all of which are faint. Taste is slightly malt liquor with tortillas and biscuit. There may be some carapils malt in here. Slightly bready. Mouthfeel is thin to medium with sticky teeth afterwards. Sweet finish. No hop presence. Drinkable by a mile but I wouldn’t recommend to a friend. I would hesitate about intimate relations if this beer was a lady...

16oz can - pours deep gold with white head. No detectable nose perhaps due to the wind. Corn and funky hops. Gross aftertaste.

Bottle. It’s almost like they just put another label on a Bud Platinum and changed the color of the bottle. Pale yellow, corn aromas with malt, cardboard and yeast flavors. Medium carbonation and a smooth finish. Not too excited about this one.

Bottle at Wurst und Bier Crosswoods on 6/14/13. Clear gold in color with a medium off-white head. Malty and creamy nose with some slight crisp hops. Malty and sweet flavor with a bit of crisp hop in the finish.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle - big foamy head, bright light yellow color, very sweet pale malty aroma and flavor, mild earthy hop bitterness - not awful overall, but certainly not anything too great either

I should have read the label more carefully. Beck’s Sapphire tastes like a typical, mass market American beer.

Pours a very pale golden with a thick white head.
Gracious, I guess they figure "who the f smells this stuff" but wow, breakfast cereal, copper, marshmallow, garbage... what a mess.
Flavor is more of the same, offensively sweet... tastes like corn flakes, has a light unfocused hop character, despite being named after a signature hop. Lightly bitter & herbal lingering characteristic is about as nice as I can get.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
12oz bottle from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield. Brewed in St. Louis, MO. Clear golden color. Thin white head. Decent lace. Medium body. Stronger, kind of biting carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Kind of a macro lagery metallic aroma, your typical flavorless poor tasting AB-InBev lager. No idea what the sapphire hop pellets are supposed to be contributing to this. Some bread. Bitter taste, some prominent bite. Hard to drink pale lager. I thought maybe there’d be a chance that this would be a nice single-hop showcase, but no, it’s just a macro lager that’s all marketing, on the same level as Budweiser Black or Unobtanium or whatever
