Yet another A-B brew in disguise, which I can live with... if it’s any good. It’s got a yellow body with a very short-lived fizzy head. It has an aroma (not strong) of damp fresh cut grass with some dirt. The taste begins with a grainy sweetness rapidly followed by a dull grassy bitterness. While better than many an A-B offering, I won’t be repeating it.

Pours a medium golden with a pillowed head. Aromas grainy, lightly grassy, light caramel. Flavors of maize, light caramel, grain and slight grass. Overall the maize ruins it for the other mild flavors. Medium sweetness that emanates from the corn. The sapphire hops come through as grassy.

I thought I was buying German beer. Turns out I was wrong. This swill is made in St. Louis, MO. Shame on Beck’s for the deception. I will never buy Beck’s again.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. The label lists the abv at 6%. Appearance: It has a tall soapy head which settles out quickly leaving not much lacing. The beer itself has a clear golden body with some visible carbonation. Smell: There is a white bread like maltiness with light candy like notes in the background. It also has a slight hop presence. Taste / Palate: There is not a lot going on here. It has a light white bready like malt base with a quick hint of sweetness, a slight touch of grainy alcohol and then a clean dry finish with light hop notes.

Bland. Gold pour. Cereal and malt aroma and taste. Some bittering hops. Not much else to say.

12oz bottle pours out a pale straw topped with a small white head. Nose straw cereal corn and wet grass. Taste is as the nose with the malts leading the way a odd after taste.

A-B has been pricing 4 packs of Becks tall boys for about $4 retail. Brewed domestically picked up a four pack of Becks Sapphire for backyard drinking. Golden pour, very light citrus aroma. Beer itself had some sweetness. For the price point it’s a a deal.

Not the worst beer I’ve ever had. Pours pale with a thin white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is mostly caramel and malts, not bad. Taste is thin and sweet. This went down like water, which should tell you something. What can I say, I was thirsty and it was all the bar had.

Reviewed from notes. I poured this into a pilsener and a pint glass. The appearance was mostly clear with a delicate haze to it and fast rising carbonation was seen filling the one finger white foamy head that ended up dieing within about a minute. Once the head died, there was barely any lacing and it was really stringy. The smell was basically over-cooked caramel malts, kinda reminiscent of someone leaving their baking bread in the oven too long, but not long enough for it char up. The taste was basically the same with that same over-cooked caramel aftertaste with a dry finish. On the palate, it sat fairly light to almost a medium on the body with a decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation is somewhat smooth, and I would say is decent for the style. Overall, one I would come back to, probably not as I really didn’t appreciate the smell and taste too much.

gold color; noble hop aroma; bitter hop flavor and grainy malt; a light, a bitter lager brewed with German Sapphire hops
