Bottle. Golden body, average white head that settles out quickly. Aroma is sweet grains, light corn. Sweet grainy palate, no hops presence at all. They spent more time on the packaging than they did on the contents.

Attractive bottle packaging. Aroma: not much going on here at all. Have to really sniff around for some hints of honeyed malt. Flavor: not too bad. Caramel. Not much hops. Sort of reminds me of Michelob AmberBock, but tastes less boozy despite a higher ABV. Also less roast as it’s not a Vienna. Not bad, at any rate. Drinkable. Flavor doesn’t last long. A little heavy on the carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with long lasting, foamy, white head. Nose is of honey and bready malt. Body is light-medium and smooth. Taste is of bready malt, some honey and hint of hops. At least I did not pay for this.

This beer is inoffensive but boring. It’s light on body, hoppiness, and taste, in general.

Scrapersnbeer (1434) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 29, 2013
Grassy aroma with weird sugar candy/gum background. Fizzy yellow appearance, a shade darker then the STL team’s home brands.Very sweet with hint apple. Light body with a minor bite. Not at all what I expected, not as good as the original Beck’s, better than ’Bud Light Platinum,’ which it is most similar to in that company’s hierarchy.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of veggie, green apple, hints of celery, slight grain, biscuit, touch of earth. Taste is a mix of grass, grain, hints of green apple, some slight grain, bubblegum, bleh.

Poured from 16 oz can into schooner glass Appearance: 1" off white head recedes quickly with mild lacing. Color is a clear light amber. Plenty of carbonation evident. Aroma: fairly mild. Caramel sweetness, lightly toasted malt, mild hops. Mouthfeel: light and watery. Finish is dry. Flavor: combination of mild toasted barley, a bit of bread dough, caramel, some hop bitterness in the finish.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Pilsner glass From: N.Y.C Price: $14.99 for a 12-pack Purchased: Dec, 2013 Misc.: Very stylish looking black bottle Use: Self AROMA: honey, cloves, floral, faint circus, bread, banana/apple bread, caramel, More like a pilsner. I really liked. APPERANCE: A light honey golden clear with 1-to-2 inches of a white head which settled fast (Which is fine with me). Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom. TASTE: It doesn’t’ have the bitterness of Beck’s (regular), but it does have a nice bit of floral hop flavor to it. Caramel sweetness, bread crust and some floral spice. PALATE. It was very crisp, sharp and smooth. A light /medium bodied lager. OVERALL: Far from being a greatest pilsner in the universe, but these reviews do seem a bit negative against Becks Sapphire for some reason. The 6% ABV went down very smooth. I actually enjoyed this beer and would not think twice about buying another 12 of these to keep on hand for a nice cold one. SERVED WITH: From Steak and Potatoes to Pizza and Wings.
