Like becks, but an inferior weaker version (or a very clever and cheaper to make marketing ploy)

Pale yellow beer with quite a strong white head. Some hop element is noticeable in the aroma. Dry, crisp mouthfeel. The taste has hints of both hops and biscuity malt. A refreshing lager, better than most of those standard ’4%’ lagers.

Tap at the Price Albert. This beer was something of a marketing triumph, producing a low strength mass produced lager which is actually drinkable, allowing for a long session in pubs that don’t serve nice beer without having to head for the european fighting lagers. Having said that, it is still a dull thin generic lager, it’s just better than Fosters/Carling et al.

Keg at the Bestwood Lodge Hotel, Nottingham. A bit like standard Becks but with half the flavour removed. Yes, it’s that dull. The hotel is nice, but don’t go there looking for a decent beer!
