Keg at the Bestwood Lodge Hotel, Nottingham. A bit like standard Becks but with half the flavour removed. Yes, it’s that dull. The hotel is nice, but don’t go there looking for a decent beer!

To make a weaker version for soft arses who can’t handle their beer is not going to fly my kite. Watery, not enough alcohol. Low alchohol pah! Just drink less. Or have a coke if you can’t drink properly. Come back to the pub when you’re 16. Have a babycham instead. Everybody knows the strength of your lager is how hard you are in real life. Fact. This is like a beer with stablisers. A training beer for kids. Not for me thank you.

Draft: another one of those lower abv macro beers created for the UK market, I consider this one to be made exclusively for binge drinking, very bland, boring & forgettable euro pale lager

Keg. Light gold lager with standard white top. Lots of bubbles. Hardly anything on the nose. In the mouth, light straw flavour and very little else. Nice drinkable non-offensive lager, but nothing else.

On Tap - Next to no head or carbonation. Very water next to no body, struggled to get through it!

375ml can brought over by my friend Bjorn! Nose is grainy, a grape note, and slightly sweet, kinda like Coors if I remmeber from having that available at my nephews. Clear gold, huge white head; flavor is grain and an ACTUAL bit of hop bitterness! Unusual in a pale lager. Looks like I am one of a very few (or only) US raters to try this! Wouldn’t be bad if I was working when it was 35 C outside and it was ice cold (what we in the US call a lawnmower beer)

Aroma is lagerish malts with skunky hops. Taste is similar though perhaps not as bitter as i thought, as normal becks can be.

Pint poured at the Jolly Gardeners in Putney (London), very carbonated, a pale yellow with a creamy white head. The aroma is metallic and grainy. Metallic, bitter and watery in the mouth. Simply terrible.

[On tap at La Parada, Reading] Normal Becks is actually quite reasonable for a lager, and so I was wondering what this lower alcohol version would be like. Pours very pale gold indeed with no head. Carbonation feels half-hearted. Tastes like someone has taken normal Becks and mixed it with equal quantities of tap water. And then dissolved some cardboard in it. Overall it tastes weak, watery and feeble. Stick with normal Becks! c2
