Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

Meh, I guess it is OK if you are into golden fizzy pilsners. Costs too much for what you are getting. Seems to be nothing special about this beer, other than it doesn’t taste too skunky. I’m an ale fan and I’m always reminded why when I try stuff like this.

Floral hops, malt, pepper and clove, bitter metal aftertaste. Drinkable.

Drinkable beer, not too bad. I keep it around for the ’all purpose’ beer. It’s not the best German Pilsner at all, but it’s not terrible either. Not the best aroma, but nothing lingers to make you wretch. Smell this one before you drink it. If it’s skunky, just dump it.

Not the greatest aftertaste, but a drinkable beer. I bought it in a 5L mini-keg, so it did provide for some good times, and had the automatic distilling system in it so I’ll give it props for that....

Um... I guess it is drinkable if very bland. Fits squarely in the easy-drinking, inoffensive category which probably makes it such a world-wide hit. Strictly for heterosexual urban professionals.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2003 A decent common pils. Not a whole lot to this beer, but it's very drinkable compared to some very domestic brews that are also available. So..

I believe that there is no such thing as a bad German beer only an average one, and this is it. Watery appearance with a slight malty taste hinting at what might have been. Its very easy to go down the ’if its mass produced it must be dull’approach but this does tend to reinforce that comment. Not bad just dissapointing but far more exciting than a lot of beers available in your average English bar.

your average import, skunky smell, clean slight saaz hop flavour, nothing worth buying but if you are at a party and they are giving it away...drink it.
