COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

Quality seems to vary, possibly due to combination of green glass and long shipping distance. When it’s not off, it’s a decent pilsner with noticeable hoppiness, very clean finish, but it’s no Pilsner Urquell. It would rate a little higher if it were more consistent.

It tasted like nice export lager - cool, crisp, and tasty.

The only decent stuff freely available over here. Its just a pity its so bloodly expensive.

I used to like this beer, but its pretty much similiar to any other massed produced lager, perhaps a bit cleaner and crips or something.

The lightest flavoured German pilsener on the market with insipid bitterness and a slighty sweet aftertaste. Skunky on the nose.

A poor Heineken ripoff, especially considering Heineken isn’t that great either. This one’s a loser.

Not too bad but I’ll stick with American and English beers that have some taste and body.

Tastes of beer unlike other pub drinks claiming to be beer.

A refreshing beer which I would have given more points to if the pleasant malty flavour and bitter aftertaste wasn’t spoilt by a faint but none the less ever present skunky smell.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2007 Bottle (BB 03/08). Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a note of DMS. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, unclean/husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Poor.
