COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

Had a bottle of this today. This brew pours with a clear light yellow/golden bottle conditioned appearance. The fine folks at Becks know how to put a head on a beer. The huge white head is as near to creamy as I can imagine a frothy head to be. It is mostly lasting with excellent lacing. The hoppy/yeasty nose is light and clean with hints of perfume, spruce, soap and is also slightly metallic. As one would expect in a pilsener, there is not an abundance of taste. The initial flavor is moderately sweet with a lightly sweet to light bitter finish of short duration. The brew has a light palate with a watery texture and soft carbonation. This would hit the spot BIG TIME on a hot day in the middle of August, but isn’t doing much for me as I watch the snow flurries outside. Overall an above average brew, and I would prefer this to any of the domestic American standards that dominate my nearest retailer’s shelves.

Bitter, but in a fairly good way. After a couple you will begin to like it even more.

Horseblanket aroma. Pale golden, white rocky head that diminishes fast, no lacing. Watery, no maltiness or sweetness, bit hoppy. Finishes more bitter.
