Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2015 50 cl can from Konzum, served in a snifter. Golden yellow with medium white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is malts, a hoppy grassy element, a bit metallic at times. Medium body, average carbonation. Taste is sweet with slightly bitter finish. No astringency, clean and crisp, but somewhat watery.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a big billowy white head. The head fades fast over time to leave a tiny bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew quite off with a rather skunky smell overall. There is a little bit of caramel and brew, but overall the skunk dominates. Taste – The taste begins with a rather bready taste with a light bit of caramel. As the taste advances some lighter grassy and corny tastes come to the tongue. At the very end a little bit of a hay, skunk, and grain taste meets the tongue, leaving one with a rather crisp and slightly grainy but just slightly odd flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin with a carbonation that is rather high. For the lighter flavors and lager characteristics of the brew the feel is rather appropriate, making it an overall very easy drinking brew. Overall- Ahh. Nothing too exceptional. It would likely be much better if not in a green bottle which taints the whole experience with the nose. It is easy drinking, but otherwise, ahh.

Aroma and taste very similar to Grolsch, this having a bit more body with a stronger aftertaste. Decent lager.

The original Becks, that’s actually brewed in Germany, tastes great! It’s not a lager, it’s a pilsner with decent hop overtones. The problem is most of the Becks you find nowadays is brewed under licence somewhere and is not the real thing, not the real taste.

Not a bad pale lager, but not a particularly good one either. Little bit of hops hidden in this one.

660ml bottle from local shop.Yellow gold colour, white foamy head and malty grassy aroma. Taste is malty, grain, papery with some grassy bitterness. Light bodied, high carbonation, grassy metallic bitter finish. OK cold.
