Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2014 50 cl bottle.Because of attractive bottle and label desing, it looks good. Typical lager with its smell and colour and enough fresh taste.

Bottle. Not particularly memorable. Tastes pretty similar to the other euro-lagers I’ve tried. I doubt it’s at its best served in Australia in bottles

Golden yellow, little head. Some malt in the aroma and then into the taste, alongside some grass. Bit of sweetness, some bitterness in the finish. OK.

Uma boa Lager. Mas não produz uma grande experiência. Se qualquer forma boa para o dia a dia.

Nothing out of the ordinary - a lager that looks well but is in no way unique or refined. Half-decent lager but that’s as much as can be said for it

Bottle from Systembolaget. Standard international-lager. Slight malt-sweetness and a hint of bitterness.

Another bottle from tonight’s Whole Foods adventure... clear golden.. no real head.. skunky hops with pils malt... unfortunately very light-struck.

No color, no head, no taste, some kind of Malt aroma. Really not a good one, took it with tonight’s bbq and Ross can be the only kind of occasion for such beer.

330 ml green bottle bought at ParkNShop International in Tsim Sha Tsui East.

Piss pale golden yellow colour; Razor-thin head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds; Small sticky lacing with very slight carbonation; Pungent smell of malt, with initial skunk (gone in 1 minute) light syrup, light grains, bread, lemon and grass; Mid to light sweet taste of light malt, with light floral, molasses, bread, potent lemon and moderate bitter grassy hops; Light body, thin palate; Mouth feel is like a cheap Helles - thin, with notable malty body, quite good floral, strong notes of molasses, solid breadyness and strong lemon, pretty rare for a macro. Quite okay… Hoppiness is lemon and smelly grass in nose, strong lemon and moderate grass in taste. Bitterness is close to light for an abrupt, low-bitter semi-finish; Dry after taste, fairly easy and lemony to mouth.

Comments: Aside from the green bottle-induced quick skunk, this is actually not bad - solid, Premium-level maltyness, sweet in aroma but not in taste. Flowery, bready and with strong if a little dull lemony hoppiness. Quite okay as a Premium Lager or even a low-end Helles, just steer clear from the green bottles and you got yourself an easy and quite tasty quaffer. Bremen, ticked!

International lager the German way. Relatively bitter. Rather boring. Okay if thirsty.
