COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our original Beck’s is a classic German lager beer with a distinctive full-bodied taste, fresh "hoppy" bouquet, golden color and full rich head. Adding to its complexity is a slightly fruity but firm crispness and a dry, clean finish.

Poured from a 330 ml bottle. Colour is light golden-yellow .  Minimal head which disappeared fast. Aroma is of malts and hops.  Taste is bitter.  Thin in body on the palate and quite carbonated. The ABV was stated on the label to be 4.9% and not 5.

On tap several times in Germany. First time tap in 2010. A decent German premium lager. Smooth, watery, thin, tangy and refreshing.

Butelka 0,66; kupiona we włoszech. Podobno ważona wg. niemieckiego prawa czystości. Kolor żółty, piana o małej fakturze, szybko schodzi, prawie nie zostawiając śladów. Przyjemny aromat, trochę jakby suchej trawy, wanili.

Butelka. Barwa słomkowa. Piana obfita opada. Aromat delikatny słodowy. W smaku niska, krótko trwała goryczka. Piwo średnio nasycone pijalne.

Bottle left over from Xmas. Nose is light malt, corn. Taste is corn, very light hop, caramel, slightly stale overpowering corn note in the short dry, slightly spicy, finish. Mouthfeel is lager fizzy. It’s a bad commercial larger.

500ml can into glass. Sweet bready malt nose. A few tiny bubbles , yellow/amber, soapy white head. Taste is a little malt, a little hop. Longish slight bitter finish. It’s ok.

Classic 0,33 l bottle. Clear golden in the glass, off white head. Mid grainy on the nose. Starts wirh a pleasant bitterness. Later more malty. Typical northern german Pils, with an easy to drink component. And not a bad one.

Bottle @ home. Pours clear golden with a fast diminishing head. Aroma moderate malty with notes of hay. Flavor has malty and metalic notes and a light bitterness.

We bought a case for our New Year Party, and I decided to rate a sample on the following day. 2x275 ml bottles poured cold into a Weizen. Bright golden yellow with a white head. I have some respect and affection for mass produced German lagers for their crowd-pleasing, does- what- it- says- on- the- tin qualities. Like sending "Johnny B. Goode" into space, this would be a way of communicating the initial, unrefined concept of "beer" to aliens. Lemon and popcorn aroma. Similar slightly citric, cereal flavours. Clean crisp refreshing, invites more than one sup. So ubiquitous, I think you should just try it. I’m pretty sure you won’t think it’s awful unless you get a duff ’un.
