MaxxDaddy (208), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Feb 12, 2008 On tap @ the brewpub. Amber pour without much head. Aroma of mint and some fruitiness, perhaps berries. The taste echoes the aroma, though I must say I was expecting a bit more of the minty element to come out. Fortunately, you get more mint to appear in the finish, which is refreshing. I liked this, though I like Fantome a bit more when it comes to minty beers.
New York, New York, USA Feb 15, 2008 A fascinating beer, unique and flavorful. Big minty aroma, super fresh. More "beery" flavor, clean malts, with still a lot of mint, especially as it warms. The mint really dominates this but only in the way that smoke dominates a good smoky beer; in other words, it plays off the flavors and offers a nice counterpart. I thought this was very well done. Sammy (3141), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2007 On tap at the brewery, unusual stuff. Conifeurs and mint. Strange vaporub aroma. Bitter with some sweetness to get it down. Glouglouburp (2009), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 21, 2007 Clear golden-copper body with a medium beige head. Smooth and full body. Rye is apparent and its accompanied light spiciness and astringency makes this one highly drinkable. Sweet breakfast jam type of fruitiness. Mint is also very apparent but not disturbing. Hint of lavender. Kind of hard to describe actually how all these flavours come together and it always amazes me how the whole thing actually works. Unusual. A mint beer, fresh breath for your alcotest.
