4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Glouglouburp (4773) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 24, 2012
In short: A big roasted dry stout with plenty of piney hops. Very good
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head with good retention
In long: Nose is roasted (burnt toasts) and pine tree, straightforward but very pleasant because very bright. Taste has a lot of roasted malts, a rather thick body, cocoa powder, notes of raisins, burnt toasts, a good amount of piney and leafy hops that really bring out a sensation of freshly cut pine-tree. Expressive hops here. Also something that resembles cedar. Sweetness sensation is rather low, bitterness level is medium. They relative dryness of this beer and its freshness sensation makes it all the more drinkable. One of the best beer I’ve had from this brewpub. Bedondaine can really brew some mean beers, this Sebichou told me I look fat in these pants.
