3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rederic (2326) - montréal, - SEP 3, 2009
Dark brown color, with a creamy beige head, chocoatey, toasted, light roasted malt nose, with a mild cocoa powder note, with a light fruity, raisiny, plummy yeastiness, and a faint note of chocolatey brownie in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice chocolatey cocoa character, with some toasted, roasted, chocolate malt flavors and some faint mochaish, cappucino, black coffee, burnt fruity raisin, date accents, leading towards a light cocoa, black coffee, dark chocolate, roasty, dry bitterness finish.

Pours a deep brown color with a thin beige head. Aroma of coacoa and malt. Flavor of coacoa and malt, it’s very easy to drink. The body is light with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. It’s not a great beer, but still, it’s an interesting experiment.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 punkska101 (477) - Chambly, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 3, 2009
@ pub, sample, I catch a metallic after taste there little cocoa note, I could have enjoy more caramel / chocolate note. Not that bad but place to improvement here
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Fred82 (1824) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 31, 2009
On tap at brewpub. 5oz sampler. Aroma is dark chocolate all around with a tiny sweetness. Taste is dark chocolate but quite discrete overall. A bit dry and bitter on the finish. It was the "worse" beer I had at the pub that day but it still was a good beer so I guess it’s a good sign !!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 25, 2009
My Bottom Line:
With the help of juicy dextrins, the prominent cocoa notes becomes milk chocolate, as earthy hops and roasted malts round out this novelty ale’s flavor profile.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the darkest brown.
-The flavors are simple but well rendered.
-There are lots of small bubbles massaging the palate.
-The earthiness gets vegetal at times. Not sure if this is the hops’ doing or the high levels of cocoa.
-The body is relatively lean for this type of beer.
On tap at the brewpub.
