On tap, 5 oz sample, aged 7 months IIRC. Light blond pour, a bit of quickly vanishing fluffy white head. Smells like cider with some cinnamon, a bit too fruity. Taste is sweet, lots of apples. I could have used some more spice to balance out the fruity sweetness. This one did not live up to its event counterparts.

On tap at the brewery. Biggest head I ever saw, by far. Good retention, rather big lace, and poured pale amber/dark golden. Aroma is mainly apple and alcohol. Taste is apple, cinnamon. Surprisingly, it wasn’t really acid -- thanks to oats, which aren’t really obvious at first but was probably added as a Rolaids or something. Close to cider territory -- really, but really low carbonation. I think that was on purpose. Kinda faint finale, but rather long. (The palate grade is 3, but it could really be a 4. I seldom say this, but carbonation needs to be a little higher...). A good one. Just don’t expect an apple pie, and don’t really expect a "beer" actually, because that’s as far as a cider that a beer can get.

@ pub 20 Oz, it take guts to try something like this. Excellent nose, remind my of great apple pies, the spice mix use is well put.

(automne 2006)

Sample tray. Gold. thin head. Quiet starting scent builds with with apple and cinamon notes. Light beer with apple and cinamon flavour. Like a spiced mead more than beer.

In short: A very bland and basic fruity cerealic golden ale.
How: Tap at brewpub. Aged batch released on 2009 Grands Crus event
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a little white ring of foam
In long: Shy fruity nose. If it wasn’t for the fact that the descriptions says it is brewed using cinnamon I don’t think I would have noticed it. Taste is basically soft white bread dipped in apple juice and a touch of honey. I don’t know where the apple juice flavour comes from but it is there. Hops contribution is subtle to say the least. Smooth round body and tickling carbonation. Not tasty and rather boring. This is an item on Bedondaine that I will try to avoid from now on.
