2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20 sbanach (202) - USA - MAY 14, 2012
Aroma is baana Clive yeast. Color is golden yellow hazy. The head dissipates to thin ring. Heavy alcohol, sweet taste with yeast banana and Clove taste from weizen yeast strain. Syrup heavy moth feel, not much hops, but lots of malt sweetness. A monster of a beer... Great to try, but I would rather have a goose island Belgian to sip on..
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KajII (462) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - APR 9, 2012
Bottle. The pour was a murky golden yellow with an average sized (1-2 finger) creamy white head that was mostly lasting, reducing to a thin cap and small collar which created some good spotty lacing.
The aroma was of a light grain malt and a horse blanket yeast with notes of honey, citrus (orange peel) and a bit of clove.
The taste was moderately yeasty and mildly sweet with a note of honey right off and then had a strong funky wheat presence with hints of citrus and clove towards the end. The flavor lingered for a very long while with a nice spicy wheat ending.
Mouthfeel was a few steps above light in body and creamy in texture with a medium carbonation.
Overall a nice mildly sweet and yeasty brew with a good balance of flavor...

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 thedm (4124) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 4, 2012
This bottled brew poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized long lasting white colored bubbles. The body was a typically carbonated transparent weak yellow color. The aroma was musty and mildly sweet. The palate was thin with a mild wheat honey dough flavor and a hop backing. Certainly not to die for.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 wnoble (693) - French Lick, Indiana, USA - NOV 5, 2011
Pours hazy pale after I swirled the bottle. White head is dense an lasting. Nose is flowery and waxy honey with medium banana and fair amount of cloves. Flavor is sweet malts and smooth with some alcohol and bananas and medium cloves. Medium full sweetness. Just a very light touch of tannins. Very smoothe other than that. really a pretty Goode hefe but could do without the honey in my opinion.

Pours an actual honey color with no head and no lace, but plenty of carbonation bubbles. Taste begins with honey and yeasty bread, but moves to the finish with lots of carbonation and a very odd taste of cloves and something I can’t identify on the sides of the tongue. For sure different, but not a beer I would enjoy drinking.

From 12-oz bottle pours a semi-hazy golden pale colored brew with a fast dissipating off-white head that disappears clean with no ring or film top. Aroma of yeast, some tropical fruit, mild pepper, honey and multi-grain malt. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of tropical fruit, cloves, a hint of lemon zest and mild yeast. Finish slightly metallic, with aftertaste of cloves, some multi-grain malt, and some tart pear.

Finally tracked down this whale thanks to aasher. Pours a hazy golden color with a fairly effervescent white head which stops short of totally disappearing. Very nice aroma of hefeweizen yeast (banana, citrus, and clove), wheat, honey, sweet malt, and floral notes. I can believe they used Weihenstephan yeast here. The flavor is good, although the alcohol comes through a little more than I’d like. Behind that are pale malt, wheat, and lots of orange. Banana and clove on the finish. Medium-light bodied, as it should be, and a little on the boozy side. This is pretty nice for a wheat ale overall, but I’ll take an actual Weihenstephan beer over what they’ve created from the yeast here.
