Spesh1 (25), , Australia Jul 23, 2008 too much hop aroma for an Australian Pale Ale and didnt match the palate. light low body. Worty, not balanced. I expected better from Beechworth who produces good beer. Will give it another shot soon. the label was funny "this is a great session beer, drink in multiples of six. MBison (356), Southern Highlands, Australia May 18, 2008 Bottle (330ml). Poured a golden hazy orange with a fluffy, white head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of toasted grain, lychee, lemon rind, mandarin and mild notes of floral hops. Flavor was a mild grassy hop bitterness with toasted grain, lychee, lemon and hints of honey. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation, a quite dry mouthfeel and an ok finish. Would make for a perfect summer thirst quencher, but it really did seem more a kolsch to me. eczematic (1153), Sydney, Australia Apr 4, 2008 A half-arsed flavourless pale ale with an infection. Vinegar aroma. Flavour is bland faint maltiness and English ale esters finished off with sharp vinegary sourness. This brewery does some good beers but they do have an occasional infection issue appearing. Perhaps using some hops would help. Muggus69 (203), Sydney, Australia Mar 5, 2008 330ml bottle served chilled. Not a style i’ve ever really experienced (outside the world of homebrewing).
Pours a slightly hazy pale golden body with a thin white collar and the odd chunk. Sharp acidic spicy aroma, peppery and floral hops with some underlying ripe fruitiness, similiar to Saaz hops, but I couldn’t be sure. Carbonation is low and body is particularly lean, i’m somehow reminded of homebrew. A touch of honeyish malt backing up the spicy pear and peppery citrus characters that seem to permeate this beer. Very easy, laid-back sorta beer, thirst quenching like nothing else, typically Aussie, think Coopers PA. Quite nice. m_peve (28), Bolwarra, Australia Jun 23, 2007 The aroma contained slight peppery notes that were almost overwhelmed by a sour, acid smell. A clear yellow ale, it poured with a medium head lasted a goodly time. With a light-medium body and moderate bitternessit would provide an excellent beer for BBQ’s in summer.
