Black color with brownish creamy head. Some aroma of roasted malts, paper, light smoke. Smooth mouthfeel with good roasted malt and dark chocolate flavor, but not much smoke. Correct bitterness. Pleasant.

[4777-20120914] Tap. Sweet chocolate roasted malt aroma has a big coffee infusion. Black body with a small long-lasting creamy light tan head. Strong coffee roasted malt flavour with a hint of chocolate in the background and a long roasted aftertaste. Full body. Good, drinkable. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

The beer poured a solid coca-cola colour with a thin tan ring for a head. The aroma consisted of smoke, pork, roasted malt, and coffee. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was smoked wood, coffee, and chocolate.

4 oz sample on tap at the brewpub. Pours an opaque, very dark brown with moderate-sized light brown head. Aroma of burned malt and sweet fruit. Flavour also has a very smoky character, with some underlying fruity sweetness. Bit of lingering smoke in finish. Carbonation a little livelier than average. Ok.

Bottle from Beer Academy. Pours solid black with tan lacing. Aroma is roasty and smoky, with some rich oats. Taste is smooth, creamy, chocolatey, roasty, with a dry smoky finish. Nice thick body - oats or something else in there to accomplish that? My wife, as a rule, hates smoked beers, but she loved this one, and so did I.

Deep black pour with a tight tan-amber head. The aroma is lightly toasty and a little bit salty. The smoke is very restrained and light. Medium bodied but quite chocolatey with a lingering sweetness. Sticky and malty. It's okay but could use more smoke to really make a statement. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gentle smoked beer and understated smoke taste. Pleasant to drink. For a nitro, fairly light mouthfeel. Lacey and dark bodied.

Smells smoked, tastes a little smoked. Thers some coffee as wel. Pours good colour, good head but little lacing. Very slim palate. Not nearly as interesting as name would lead you to believe.

Dry roast malt, dry cocoa and dark malt. Bit of a coffee like roast in the finish. 6+ Smooth medium bodied palate. Just okay. On tap at Beer Academy, Toronto
