Bottle [1L] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o GregClow. Pours a dark amber-brown with an average size semi-lasting frothy tan head. Aroma is malty and a bit toasty along with light hops and hints of rye and peat. Flavour of lightly toasted malt, light hops, some chocolate and a hint of peat. Just a touch watery. Average bodied. Quite good.

1 Litre bottle. Very dark brown. Mild smoke aroma, more malty. Taste of rich malt and well integrated smoke. Some time in the bottle may have made a contribution. Good drinkability. Only lightly bitter, more sweet malt notes including some caramel. Smooth drinker.

[5018-20121217] 1L bottle. Sweet toasted fruit malt aroma. Slightly hazy, dark mahogany brown body with a quick foamy tan head. Sweet roasted grainy smoked wood flavour has soft coffee notes. Full body. Tasty, don’t care much for the aroma. (5/3/8/4/14) 3.4

2012-12-17. Very dark brown body, nice beige head. 4+ Modest peaty smoke aroma, over modest sweet malt. 7+ Very sweet malt flavour, muted toasty malt accents and just a bit of peaty undertones. 7+ Overly sweet/under attenuated like most of their beers. Smooth average plus bodied palate, lightly carbonated. 3+ Nice, but a bit too sweet even for a Wee Heavy. I don’t love the peat character, but then that is sort of the point! Tap at Beer Academy: Aroma: dark notes , dry plum , tart with sweet side . Wheat like hints with blend of smoke. Good. 7+
Apperance: murky dark brown with mid light top. Rocky beige. 3+
Taste/Palate etc. Full bodied. Sweet front , raisins with caramel-candy backing. Fruity feel behind. Over all not cloying. Fairly bitter on side end. Drinkable nice brew.

1 litre bottle from the brewery. Pours an opaque dark brown with some orange at the edges and a modest-sized tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet caramel, dark fruit and . Taste is part sweet, part roasty caramel, plum/raisin and molasses, a touch of chocolate is apparent too. Fine carbonation. Pleasant.

1 litre growler shared by gregclow with me, blankboy, jercraigs & mabel. Deep brown-ruby, clear, average long-lasting frothy/creamy beige head. Aroma is minerally, dry and floral, not as sweet as I thought. Taste follows, nice pungent floral character, a hint of cocoa - sweet, but not cloying. Average body, strong carbonation, finishes sweet and dry - nice.

Deep ruddy amber pour. The aroma is a little bit sweet and slightly plummy. A little bit of caramel and treacle along with some very faint burnt sugar character. A touch of molasses as well. Decent brew - it's not my favourite style, but it's a decent take on it nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
