2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, - JUL 9, 2004
Dartford Fest. Gravity. Dry session bitter. Decent enough but lacked character.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ALLOVATE (1705) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2011
Cask, handpump @ The Beer Engine, Newton St. Cyres, Devon. Bright, sparkling medium gold with a tight, compact snow-white crown that holds firm with good legs. Soft, bready and yeasty nose with hints of chamomile, tea and flower petals. Nice, delicate malty palate, weet-bix, toasted grain, hay. Very light, clean, a little citrus on the tail before a lightly bitter, dusty swallow. Quite dry, a mild spritz amplifies it somewhat. Drops off quick, no aftertaste. Very simple, a nice easy quaffer.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 downender (4380) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2010
On gravity at the Tuckers Maltings Beer festival, Newton Abbot 23/04/10. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. I can only agree with the other ratings. This was an easy, drinking bitter with a touch of strawberry fruit and dry finish, but it didn’t make a lot of impact.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 imdownthepub (7461) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2004
Cask Conditioned at The Beer Engine, Newton St Cyres, Devon. Pale Amber with light bubbly head. Thin maltiness with a tea like flavour and on the dry side. Low on impact, but great as a session bitter.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2004
Cask@Dartford BF. Slightly sulfuric nose. Pretty bland and grainy/edgy in taste, really not much else to say, a below average English bitter.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 11, 2004
Beer # 13 at Dartford Beer Festival with SilkTork and Duff. A gold coloured standard bitter. The aroma has a hint of malt, but nothing very assertive. The flavour, again has a little malt and a little bitterness, but, again, not a lot of impact. Dry finish, but not a lot of crisp bite. A perfectly reasonable session beer, but nothing get too excited about. Although the marks are relatively low, this beer is entirely fit for the purpose intended. Cask (gravity dispense).
