500ml bottle (Kontori, Tampere)
Super coffee aroma, and amazingly tastes of coffee too. Odd that, given that they doped it with coffee. Beer where? However, it’s a super tasty drink so I can’t complain too much even if it’s a bit gimicky.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nocturne (140) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2012
Draught at Fermentoren. Black pour. Coffee and chocolate jump out immediately in the aroma along with something I couldn’t put my finger on at the time. Walking back from the bar I realised it was liquorice. Lots of it. Nicely sweet, sharp and bready taste. On the whole a good milk stout, but not completely to my liking.

Bottle:
Nice vast creamy tan head which isn’t really lively and stays long on top of a black colored beer.
Smell dark coffee, roasted malts, coffee roast, sweet wood and burned wood, toffee, hops, yeast and a hint of something sweet citrussy.
Taste lots of roasted coffee, some hops, again roasted coffee, roasted malts, low to medium bitterness, some spices, roasted dark chocolate drenched hops. Nice roast.
Aftertaste is lot of coffee roast with some roasted malts and just a touch of bitterness...
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture.
Lot of dark coffee and coffee roast. Good beer! Love the label.

Draught@Pikkulintu
Dark, almost opaque brown color, average brown head. Aroma is sweetish cocoa, coffee and licorice. Medium bodied, suprisingly watery palate for this ABV. Flavaor has cocoa, some soya sauceness, toasted malts, licorice pipe. A bit burnt. Quickly vanishing aftertaste.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 GammelNok (13) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 1, 2012

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerSkull (675) - SWEDEN - APR 12, 2012
Rich aromas of roasted malt, sweet coffee, licorice and dark chocolate. The taste is the same but most of all the coffee aroma is noticed, it’s a little burnt, but not extremely bitter. The aftertaste is dry, bitter, and despite the otherwise rich flavor actually a little watery. But on the whole a really good beer!

Bottle: Pitch black, bigger tanned fluffy head, solid roasty aroma with an imp-stout-like background:leather, tobacco and dried fruits; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, not fizzy; increasing coffeeish flavours in the quite dry roasty-leathery finish. Good…
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rosenbergh (3486) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 25, 2012
Draught at the Bishop’s Arms, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Black colour with small light brown head. Roasted malt, milk sweetness and coffee in aroma. Flavour is coffee, milky sweetness and strong maltiness. Normally I don’t like much very coffee-y stouts but this is quite nice. Smooth but a bit thin.
