COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Maria (10136) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 11, 2011
It’s transparent black with a red hue and a huge, creamy head. The aroma is hoppy with notes of spruce, straw and citrus. The flavour has a light sweetness and a light, dry bitterness, and it has the same hoppy notes as the aroma plus nice licorice. The finish is roasted.

from erzbierschof.ch - dark ruby-brown in colour and with a little dark beige foam left, nice lacework; aroma of black chocolate and walnuts; quite sweet and with a medium malt backbone, some tartness and a quite dry bitter and roasted chocolatey aftertaste - charming

500ml bottle (Bierkompass.de?)
7 Lovely hoppy aroma as it pours, fruity and crisp and exciting. Closer up, there’s a pleasant chocolateyness too. Pucker!
5 Looks beatiful, tremendously dark red, almost black, and a huge persistent frothy tan head.
7+ Lovely well-balanced taste. Plenty of toasty roast, hints of cocoa, and a lovely wave of new world hops delicately pop above that to crown it nicely.
4+ Refreshing palate, pleasant carbonation. Finish has a touch of the cocoa again, and again, a lovely subtle spicy zesty hopiness.
15 I’ll confess to having a quick peek at the ratings, and there was 3.6 after 3.6 after 3.6 - I was fully expecting a dull beer being robotically given good marks by homers or fanboys. Which was stupid really, considering who the brewer is. Anyone who only gave this 3.6 doesn’t like good beer! All in 4.7% - this is so well made. I raise a glass to Christian, may I get to taste many more.

pivnizub (8790) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 12, 2011
Bottle: Hazy, deep amber coloured, almost black, medium-sized - quite stable - lacy beige head; exotic fruits and piney hops in the nose, backed by a touch of roasted malt (almost smokey); moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, pretty soft; lingering fruity (pineapples) and piney-hoppy finish with some dry toasted malt in the aftertaste. Just good.....

(bottle) Hazy, dark brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Fruity and slightly piney hoppy aroma with notes of exotic fruits and a present dark malty touch, including notes of mocha and liquorice. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dark malty start with a tinge of coffee and liquorice, taken over by fruity and slightly piney/resiny hops from the middle part; bitter-sweet and moderately dry finish with lingering hoppy notes. 06.IV.11

50cl bottle @ Colin’s. Very dark brown color with a deep dark red glow coming through. Small off-white to beige head. Smell malts, hops. Taste malts, hops, lightly bitter. A bit thin bodied even for 4,7%ABV. Low to medium carbo and body.

Bottle from Beer Merchants, consumed at home 23.12.10 Pours black with a nice beige head. The flavour is initially plenty of chocolate there is hops but they are late to the party and whilst not offering a big hoppiness they are definately there and play there part well, some coffee also noted. This is the sort of beer that you can happily sip and barely notice it’s almost gone (which I did) very pleasant. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

lusikka (6206) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 19, 2010
500 ml bottle. BBE 15.7.2011.
Pours a pitch black colour with a large, foamy, beige head. A bit lacy. Aroma of very strong hops with pine needles and smoke. Flavour of strong hops, chocolate, pine needles, grass and coffee with some sweet notes as well. Medium bodied with a very smooth mouthfeel and a mouthdrying hoppy finish. Very pleasant for such a low-ABV brew.
