COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Joint tasting with Strykzone. Pour black with foamy tan head with good retention. Good lacing. Nose of roasted malts and citrus. Medium body and a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is roasted chocolate malts with hops that provide both flavor and some bitterness. Very nice in all regards.

Bottle from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This poured thick and black with a huge tan head that had very good retention. The nose was chocolate, and citrus hops. The flavor was both of those, too. Early, the hops lead and they tasted citrus. That was a bit of a challenge as the chocolate tended to take out those nuances. Later, chocolate took charge and this became a hoppy stout. Alcohol was tasted and was the only detriment here. This was very tasty and smooth. Often this style is an IPA that is dark or has a bit of roasted notes. Not this one. It is full of chocolate and goes well beyond others.

A bottle of batch 509 @ benzai. Opage black with a nice brown head. Smells hoppy (citrus) and chocolate. Tastes hoppy, chocolate and roasty. Very round flavour, full body and great carbo. Great beer! Not the best of the best but definately enjoyable.

Beer Here Dark Hops -pullossa on hauska etiketti. Itse olut näyttää mustalta, hieman öljyiseltä. Olussa on runsas, vaalean ruskea vaahto.

Super!

big tan head, lasting sustained, nice lacing, very dark, some brown notes at the edges... big aroma, fruits and roast dominate, smells more imperial stoutish than black ipa ish, a little alcoholic ... lively medium full bodied, burnt flavor, tobacco, possibly even ash, some mild chocolate notes, some coffee, not many hops present.. This is really really good, the smoke/ash is different, but when its called dark hops, hops should be the defining flavor, and they are not... perhaps its an old bottle...

Bottle @ home, shared with Dutchdrebus. Totally black opaque color, small brown head. Smell hops, lightly roasty and some chocolate. Taste roasty, chocolate and hops: nice! Medium to full carbo, medium body.

650ml bottle, that poured a jet black with a tan head. Aromas of chocolate, malt, and a touch of citrus. Taste follows the aroma with a licorice aftertaste.

Chocolate, licorice, grapefruit and almost a candy note. Reminds me of gelatins candy with a nice balance. Dry finish and quite big.

Sweet, chocolate, then burnt oats and earth. Some notes of hops after that on this black beer with mocha head. Smokey, roasted, grain. Not much bitter or hops. Strange but good.
