Pours dark black, as dark or even darker than some Imperial Stouts I’ve had, with 2 finger rich, frothy, small-bubbled tan head. Aroma is flawless. MASSIVE notes of coffee and bittersweet chocolate (maybe even vanilla?) interweave with hints of citrus, pine, and resin. Flavor is chocolate cake, green piney hops, then coffee, roast, spice, and a hint of grapefruit peel on the finish. Body is full with lively carbonation, creamy, and finishes dry and bitter. The flavor of this divine liquid linger on for minutes between sips. Folks, when I tell you this is everything I could ever want in a beer, I kid you not. This is unreal. Legendary. I aspire to ever be able to brew something like this myself.

This is a damn good beer! Black with a fizzy brown head. Aroma and taste of floral amber incense and citrus hops, roasted grain and chocolate with a coffee finish. One of the best beers I’ve had lately.

Defines the category and the black IPA. My personal point of reference. Aroma and taste bear slight notes of smoke derived from the chocolate malt and the coffee nuts I assume are a part of this magnificent beer. Easy compares to and/or beats the best works of Three Floyds and Mikkeller. No matter the mood, no matter where in the world, no matter the weather or time of the day - I’d get this if it’s on tap. I promise it’ll be love at first sight.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2012 Bottle from Mane Liquor. First one to get this beauty ! Pours black with a big three finger tan head. Head retention is fantastic. Great lacing. Aroma of coffee, raw hops and herbal notes. The taste brings out the big hoppy notes with some coffee and chocolatein there. Palate is amazing. This beer is awesome.

Blacker than black beer with a huge and creamy cappucino-brown foam. Pine, lemon, grape, licorice and roasted malt on the nose and in the mouth also tones of coffee and a rather harsh, but well proportioned bitterness from the hops, that works extremely well with the roasted, burned tones. A modern favorite of mine

"Hops were hurt in the making of this beer"
I just recently heard about a beer thats a combination of my two favorite styles of beer. Imperial stout, and IPA. And i knew i had to try it. Dark Hops by Beer Here is that beer.
Poured into a tulip glass. Black with no light showing at all. One finger of a roasted hazelnut color head with tremendous lacing that hugs the glass for dear life.
Smell is very hoppy. Mostly citrus hops. Chocolate and roasted malts with some caramel and coffee also.
Well can literally taste this beer change flavors in your mouth. First you get hit with the citrus hop bite and slowly it warms as you swallow and turns to a roasted chocolate flavor and finishes tasting big time of coffee.
Mouthfeel is rich and medium to full bodied. Finishes super creamy with a tremendous after taste.
This is a hell of a beer! Best of both worlds. Hops, coffee, chocolate, alcohol. What more could you want. This beer is really a good time. I’m glad i found this. I recommend you going out and getting one if you can find it.

Beer Here Dark Hops -pullossa on hauska etiketti. Itse olut näyttää mustalta, hieman öljyiseltä. Olussa on runsas, vaalean ruskea vaahto. Tuoksu on havuinen, kahvinen ja suklainen. Myös makua täytyy kuvailla noilla termeillä. Sen lisäksi tämä on katkera, kuiva ja hieman makea. Erittäin miellyttävä olutkokemus.

Truly an awsome beer! Black look with a thick long lasting brown head, leaving lacings. Aroma holds overwhelming amounts of piney hops, drinking it fresh seems like a good idea! Under the pine comes notes of mild chocolate, liquirce and some smoked wood. Flavor is fresh and smooth for a beer this dark. Again loads of pine in the moutharoma along with smooth milky chocolate. Medium hop bitter, a little roasted and a great chocolate cane sugery sweetness. Wont be my last, thats for sure!

Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: Jet black with a beautiful rocky and frothy light brown head which left very nice lace upon the glassware. The aroma is dank resiny piney hops in a sandwich of dark chocolate. leather baseball glove, smoked ham meat and wrapped in cavendish tobacco leaves. Yes, I just had a boner and it was good! The taste is lush sweet chocolate and charred black malts fighting for play with the dank and fruity hops yet in the end peace is achieved and harmony is found all over my palate. Me so f**king happy right now. Cygnus the God of Balance would be proud and proclaim this an otherworldly experiance! This brew has layers of earthy goodness that simply rocks it out. Hoppy enough not to be a Imperial Porter or Stout, it is very much akin to fresh Alpha Klaus but with more body and bitterness. Best of all is that while some ashy and chalky character is found on the palate, this brew is oh so drinkable and oh so smooth. Damn dangerous this is. I have had more than a few Black IPA’s and this sets a benchmark for the new and expanding genre. Beer Here Please! (I need to contact them and see if they will do a homebrew recipe for me, this blows my homebrew Black IPA right out the of water, and that is the biggest compliment I can give this beer) Damn, just damn, I am floored.

Filthy brew. Emmmmmmmm pure effing dommy. Awesome hop stout aroma, but the flavor was just a hopped chocolate with no coffee. Kind of like a really good bitter dark chocolate in a beer, but instead of lots of chocolate it had more floral/pine hops. Awesome beverage.
