COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours dark brown. Aroma is smokey, robust and somehow sweet all at the same time. Flavour is sweet with a bitter punch. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Fermentoren, Copenhagen. Poured a cloudy dark copper colour with a thin off white head. The aroma is alcoholic rich and hoppy, leading to a strong bitter, hoppy, citrus flavour. Given the ABV I’m surprised there was no liqourice.

Very impressive beer and entirely unique for Europe! Great to see the ’American Strong’ style break through here, well at least try. A friend of mine compared this to the Arrogant Bastard, and I see that but this comes off a bit sweeter, too much so due to its initial bitterness. This beer needs a bit more balance in its aggression. Very good nonetheless!

Keg @ Orsted Olbar. The pour’s deep amber with a small head. The nose is strong sweet fruity malts, caramel. Sweet bakery bread. The taste is toffee and caramel. Raspberry, red fruits, some plums and brown sugar. Medium body. OK.

Draught at fairbar Aarhus 7/5 3013. Dark clody beer, with a small white head, that quickly disappear. Hoppy aroma, with some malt notes. Taste of piney and citrus hops at first and then a malt aftertaste. Maybe a little boozy. Overall a fine beer.

Keg@Fementoren, Copenhagen (Beer Here tap takeover) - Amber in colour with a small offwhite head. Quite a beast - heavy Pine, caramel, sweet boozy malts with some other woody, herbal notes in here. Boozy bitter finish. Decent stuff this.

Appear brown and cloudy with a big light brown persistent head. Super intense aroma, pine, citrus, tropical fruits, Citra/Nelson sweetness, alcohol heats. Taste is surprisingly round sweetness from hops and malts, lots of bitterness back. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample from 50 cl. bottle. Deep, red-brown colour with a small, creamy, light tan head. Fruity aroma with rich caramel malts, sweet fruits, citrus and resin hops, pines. A hint of alcohol. Taste is sweet. Full body, creamy to oily texture, soft carbonation. Finishes bitter with citrus and pines, also some spiciness. The rich maltyness seems to dampen the 80 IBU somewhat. Still good and well balanced.
