COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Low but lasting off-white head. Hazy dark red brown body. Vineous berries malt aroma. Relatively sweet and yout powerful hops dominated malty pine grass flavor. A bit one sided but the alcohol is well hidden. Low carbonation. Long bitter aftertaste.

Draft @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty hoppy piney floral aroma. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with hoppy bitter piny citrus hints. Has a long malty hoppy bitter finish.

On tap. Just what I expected a double ipa to be like; it poured a dark amber colour with a thick, off-white head that lasted a while. It was extremely bitter, but surprisingly refreshing and well worth it’s name.

Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a light beige head. Aroma has plenty of pine, toffee and some dried fruits and kumquats. Smooth mouthfeel verging on syrupy. Rather sweet taste with bitterness struggling through. Quite fruity, with raisins, dates, grapes and caramel. Pine and citrus hops are there but a lot less than you’d imagine from the aroma. Alcohol is well hidden. Big malty flavours can’t disguise a lack of life in the texture. There are lots of good things about this but I found it unengaging - it seems slightly less than the sum of its parts.

500mL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small head that slowly settles to a ring. Aroma of resin, wood and a little citrus, caramel, honey and alcohol. Medium sweetness and bitterness, some hop flavours. Medium bodied, soft carbonation with a lingering bitter finish.

On tap at Plan B. An almost clear beer, dark amber in color, and topped by a finger-thick, off-white to beige head. Piney, resiny nose with caramel and some roasted aromas. The flavor has caramel and roasted malts with a touch of coffee. Citrusy, piney hops up front, a bit low on bitterness I think. Tropical fruits and bitterness in the end, slightly roasted. Full-bodied and sweetish on the palate. An easy drinkable beer, quite nice with the lunch we ate. 100508

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy orangey brown with a creamy and lacing off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel with citrusy hops. Very solid body, a litte low in carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, the caramel prevails as do quite some exotic fruit accents. The swetness seems to hide most of the hop bite, but I bet this is still pretty damned hoppy. 140910

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Reddish brown color. Sweet toffeish, nutty and hoppy aroma with lemony, flowery and soapy hops. Thick bittersweet flavor toffee, nuts, flowery hops. Not my favourite style of beer, combination of nutty-toffeish malt and strong hoppiness is not that great.
