Bottle. Pours dark copper with a big, medium-bobbled head. Aroma of mal, caramel and hops in background - quite pleasant. Beer is full bodied, in taste mainly sweet malt notes with a bitter finish. Alcohol very well hidden - only little warming sensation in the finish. Very good strong ale.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, shared with Parksy at the lake, May long weekend. This beer was very much like the Red Hops, murky, earthy, with sweet stone fruit character and low bitterness. This may have been a touch more dusty. Ok.

Bottle to glass. Pours a murky deep amber ruddy brown color with a frothy light brown head. Aroma is mostly caramel malts, molasses, bourbony, boozy. Flavor is caramel malts and booze. Not much hop profile found anywhere in the beer, but it may not be the freshest. Medium in body with a lingering sweet boozy character. Solid strong ale.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours very hazy dark amber with a creamy beige/tan head. Lots of hop and some fairly roasty malt for aroma. Hop is sort of earthy. Med body. Flavor is earthy with roasty malt. Medium dark fruits. Seems to be a lot of hop, but it’s not extremely bitter - there is a mild hop burn. Unless that’s heat. In the mouth, but not the gullet, so hop. With time the aroma seems to become a bit oxidized. But the earthy flavor hides any oxidation for me.
