COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

(Bottle 9/6-2011) Fruity hoppy aroma, dark brown, rather slim malt body compared to the bitter finish.

Bottle sample @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Deep copper brown body, small beige head. Aroma is strawberry, deep malts and hints of caramel. Taste is roasty dark malts, grassy hops, hints of peaches and strawberry. Bitter finish. OK, but not great and more like a roasty IPA than a brown ale.

Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011 from a 0.5l bottle. Pours a really deep brown body with a low islandy beige head. Has an lovely fruity hopy aroma with pineapple, peach and apricot hints. Really fruity and nice, almost so fruity that I have my doubt that this is a brown ale. Oily mouthfeeling, it’s average carbonated and medium-bodied. Flavors are also quite fruit-hopy with nice notes of chocolate, roasted malts,a light ashy finish and a really nice longlasting roasted aftertaste. A really good beer, but as one wise man said: "This tastes like a brown india pale ale(BRIPA), and not like a brown ale "

At Copenhagen Beer Festival. Brown colour. Lovely aroma and flavour of brown and lightly roasted malts, caramel, rye bread and a little chocolate, mixed with distinct fruity (apricot, melon, citrus) hops. I was sceptical how well Citra hops would fit in a brown ale, but Beer Here have succeeded. Good stuff!

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2011 (10 cl on tap, CBF 2011 as well as 50 cl bottle from Toft Vin) Pours a reddish brown with medium, toffee head that laces the glass. Aroma is unusually (for the style) fruity citra hop style with notes of caramel malt. Almost creamy texture on the palate with medium carbonation. Full bodied with a long, dry finish. Taste is bitter, toasted and rich with a herbal hop character. Refreshingly unconventional - extra points for well implemented originality.

Bottle @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Pours unclear ruby brown with a small white head and lacings. Waaauw - freshly hopped nose. Pine needles, grapefruit, caramel and coffeee. Dry and lasting bitterness. Smooth. Dopeness.

bottle at home. clear brown, huge smooth light brown head. Strong aroma of citra hops (glass is 30cm away and i can rate the aroma remotely) Aroma is bitterhoppy, citrussy, faint sweet malty. Very nice. flavor is malty, dry from hops, slighlty grapefruity, palate is smooth. Flavor and aroma is so hoppy that if I had blind tasted this one i would likely have guessed on black ipa, double ipa or american strong ale. Way more hoppy than anything else i’ve had that claimed to be a brown ale. Be warned. If anythnig it might taste like a blend between a brown ale and an IPA: Tasty, quenching, a little sweet (for an ipa) but superdry and hoppy (for a brown ale). Another unique brew from CSA.
