A decadent stout, inspired by the special British ales exported to the Russian Court, during the 18th century. It is black and viscous like crude oil from the oil fields in the Caspian Sea. The flavor is dominated by dark notes of burnt sugar, spicy hops and smokiness from peaked malt. Unpasteurized * Unfiltered * Bottle-conditioned.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, hops, yeast.

500ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a large beige head, which lasts very well, leaving excellent lacing. The aroma is a weighty and quite savoury mix of cured meats, espresso and some mild spice notes. Quite strong spice and pepper hops lead into a surprisingly smooth blend of smoke and charcuterie notes. The finish has a nice bitter cocoa flavour to it. This is an interesting imperial stout, both quite hoppy and unusually savoury. Nevertheless, it all works well together to create a hefty and very pleasant stout.

Ładny aromat - karmel, likier, suszone owoce. mocno palony. Wysycenie średnie, mogłoby być niższe, by uwypuklić aksamitność. Dobry, solidny RIS.

Bottle: I had this at the annual Stout tasting in Boise hosted by some Beer Advocate guys (gasp) where they allow some rating whores in from ratebeer. This brew had a funky aroma with weird flavors to follow. not a fan.

Bottle shared at a smoked beer tasting at our place. Thanks Desverger. Black, with a light tan head. Alcoholic and velvety aroma, some nuts too. Very fruity, fermented fruit, sweetish and coke-like taste. Full body, a little fizz. coke-like finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Black with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, alcohol, a bit of chocolate and some licorice. Rather sweet flavor with dark fruits, licorice, a bit of chocolate, and alcohol. Medium to full-bodied, kinda boozy.

Bottle split at Chriso Easter tasting, 04/04/15. Pitch black with a decent tan covering. Nose is rich chocolate, spice, earthy roast, toffee. Taste comprises dark fruit notes, chocolate, molasses, toffee fudge, peppery spice, toasted brown sugar. Medium + body, fine carbonation, drying close. No game changer but a decent enough impy.

Pours a opaque black with a moderate sized tan head that slowly settles and leaves a little bit of lace. Aroma is peat/smoke, dark dried fruits, burnt sugar, mild roasted malts. Flavour is dark dried fruits, roasted malts, chocolate, peat, smoke, mild bitterness, licorice and a dry finish. Fantastic beer!

Pours an opaque black with a small brown head that leaves good legs on the glass. Aroma of anise, roasted malts, cocoa, smoke, campfire and black licorice... Great Aroma. Taste is peated malts, roasted malts, black licorice, burnt sugar and a smooth bitterness on the finish. Complex and balanced with a bit of a cloying mouthfeel likely due to the addition of sugar.
