COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Belgian Strong ale finished with lactic acid bacteriae and matured on Danish red wine casks with sour cherries.

250ml bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours dark brown with a minimal head. Aroma has hints of sourness, kriek and spices. Taste is quite sour with notes of spices and red wine. Full bodied, smooth finish. Nice, quite unusual kriek.

250 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu, Helsinki.
Pours a dirty reddish brown colour with a small white head on the edges. Aroma of sour fruits, mild caramel and some grass. Flavour of very sour dried fruits, caramel, nuts, tannin and some malts. Medium bodied with a dry, tart mouthfeel with some warming. Reminds me of a red wine.

Saurer aber schwerer Antrunk, in dem Fruchtnoten kaum hervorkommen. Das Bier wird nun alkhollastiger, schwer, herb, wenig sauer und quasi nicht fruchtig. Etwas holzig, plump. /8/7/7/12/7

250ml bottle poured into my Narke tulip, thanks to Sean for this rare tick... A dark maroon, with purple notes. A light tan head forms a thick ring, light lacing... The aroma is really good, smells like an oud bruin with a hint of red wine and oak and some nice grapes... The taste is not as successful a little too chemical with a flat finish and way too much oak. A interesting tart note that I like but the finish kills me.

Bottle that Jan & Charlotte passed to me at Kerstbier Festival Essen, Belgium, Dec 2010 Many thanks Jan & Charlotte for this consumed w/c 14.02.11 Pours dark murky brown a bit like a well stewed cup of tea but with an off-white rim of bubbles. Sour cherry & red wine vinegar combine on the nose. Taste is sharp cherries, sour but lovely, its soft in the mouth, some woodiness, but sharp bitter unripe cherries force their way through again. Really like this A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Very light gushing to thick red-brown head, immediately degraded to a viscous, muddy, red-brown beer, yeast and other things all in suspension. Overwhelming cherry nose upon opening, fruit acids, acetic acid, fruity esters, wood and fusels. Bit of a jumble, but pretty attractive all the same; Sour cherries, with a very remarkable background flavour - mounting towards the finish - that is 100% like dried figs. Alcohol and fusels, but not to obtrusive. Fruity, serious alcoholcontent and -burn, but yet not really sour. Very well (fruit)bodied, slick, fiery. Better than the sum of its parts, marks to prove. Big thanks to Jan & C.!

Bottle at home. Hazy red-brown with some head. Matter of fact if poured out of the bottle! Aroma moderate cherries and sour. Flavor sour, wood and cherries. Almost full body, the warmth is certainly felt.
